After Bulma/Nora gets kidnapped on stage 1, a cutscene will abruptly pop up every so often and interrupt gameplay, with Bulma/Nora getting increasingly impatient each time it does. After so many cutscenes, she eventually gets fed up and starts blasting. This was even, shockingly enough, left in the otherwise heavily censored US release (perhaps the censors didn’t dawdle around and see it when they played the game….???)

No, it doesn't. How does evading your opponent's attacks explain why you always get beaten? That's contradictory, and it's certainly no excuse to use Yamcha's name as a derogatory verb. Besides, Yamcha in this game can hit Goku without even touching him.
@@bubufubu It's neither a meme nor a troll. It's entirely possible to say that Yamcha is stronger than Goku and mean it. I'm pretty sure Yamcha jobbed Goku during their first fight. This is a pretty fun game!!! I’m still stuck on level 3 (where you have to reclaim the dragon balls and fight Yamcha/Lancer) because of this. Other than that, pretty great early NES game!!! I don’t even mind the annoying constantly depleting power gauge all that much because that’s actually a nod to the TV show-Goku is always hungry and has a huge appetite, and you can’t fight the forces of evil on an empty stomach!!

That's an...interesting thought, but Goku doesn't actually wear the panties. He freaks out after removing them from her one time, but I'm not aware of any explanation for why it temporarily increases his speed in this game. Their inclusion is tied to Muten Roshi and Oolong, mostly the former.
@@bubufubu oh I know I just figured that's what happens in game XD it's very cute though this game must have been awesome at the time especially since I don't think the anime was out just yet if I'm not mistaken so experiencing the dragon ball story this way must have been so fun for japanese audiences ^^

There are multiple endings. At 52:48, Shen Long asks you to make your wish and the player is given four options. The ending you get depends on what you choose.
I loved the video and I liked that in the rom they added the dialogues that were not there during ep 7 to 10, including the bosses, these ep are here due to an error with a beta and how to use the hamehameha wave
The biggest problem with this game were the LIMITED STEPS you could make. This may not be obvious from the video, because the guy knows where to go, but in the actual game, unless you knew the path, you were constantly getting game over-ed by the "pow" going to 0. Basically, your power was being drained for every step you made, so if you spent too long going in a wrong direction, you could just run out and then the only thing left to do was to start over. Otherwise a fun experience, but it was super frustrating.
I can certainly relate to the frustration bestowed upon the ignorant player for this game, especially King Byon at the 35:42 mark. I needed outside help to get past him. The localized version wasn't incredibly vague or confusing, though. Mainly, you had to worry about having cupcakes or meat pop up in the right places or coming up with effective strategies for bosses. It wasn't a vast world or incredibly maze-like. Choice of direction was pretty limited.
You left out one of the Bandit Bear bosses and one of the Yamcha fights (there are three of them). Pilaf isn't really a boss in this game. Same goes for the giant crabs. Also, you have Ashura Robo (final boss) in the wrong spot. It comes after Shogun.
As bad as it was butchered for the US release as "Dragon Power", its not as bad as what localization was done to Fist of the North Star on the Sega Master System as "Black Belt".
Black Belt was decent enough though. They even had the decency to leave the Japanese text in the game that appears when you do finishing moves. Now, if only the game awarded you more than 2 bonus lives and had some FUCKING CONTINUES…..
I remember renting Dragon Power over a weekend growing up and how frustrating the game was. Got as far as chapter 5 boss, the rabbit and accidentally let him touch me... Oof, instant Game Over. Quit after that.
