    WOW Amry, Kix is really coming along great 😃. He's such a sweet little guy. He seems to be very willing, and just wants to please you. Doesn't hurt that he's also gorgeous! You are such an amazing trainer Amry, your kind but stern, which in my opinion these youngsters need, and you always use soft hands 👐. ALL these colts you start, really respond to you well 🐴. Loved watching you work with him. Love and Blessings to you always ❤ 🙌 Jennifer

      Alan's stallion if Gold 66 (palomino) he is three I believe and he is with Trista. His other stallion Kix66 if on lease to Martins Quarter Horse in Bayfield CO he is a roan. He will be at Martin's for some time. Gold 66 will be going back to Alan's place in a week or so. This baby also a roan is from a recent breeding, not sure if the stud was Kix66 or Gold 66.

    ❤🎉 Excellent sessions, fun to watch. I wondered about the cow hocked too and thought maybe as they gain strength it would correct. You mentioned it's not uncommon for cow bred horses. Is that because they are quick on their hind quarters darting after cows and changing directions and such?
    Thanks for your videos. 🐎⭐💐🤠❤️

  • @brbrknndy
    @brbrknndy Před 9 měsíci +1

    KIXS really seems to like you. On the backup motions of the horse what command do you use to tell the horse to backup? Are you just teaching them the motions first?

    • @cnahorses
      @cnahorses  Před 9 měsíci

      I use a few different commands, I can show the differences between them in a future video - the basic concept I want Kixs to learn is that when pressure is put in front of him he moves back away from it. The pressure could just be a stick being waved or his lead rope being waved. The back up is really good for me to get Kixs to respect personal space and move out of it when asked ☺️

    @jamesnotsmith1465 Před 8 měsíci

    Hi Amry. I found your channel when you bought a horse from Jerry Winn. I've been binge watching your videos since. Fascinating. I would like to ask about the crouching posture you often assume when asking for a response. Why do you crouch?

    • @cnahorses
      @cnahorses  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi! Thank you for coming over to my channel! My crouching is me changing my body language. I am trying to give my horses clear communication of what I am asking and I can do that through body language. Horses don't speak English to each other but they do speak body language. Watch horses in the pasture or in the wild and when they want another horse to move out of their space they pin their ears and lower their neck. Changing my body position from passive (crouching) to relaxed (upright) shows the horse clearly what I am asking ☺️

    I am working on a weanling now. not bred by me, he is still pretty wild and is very hesitant when i approach him. he always comes to appoach me but the minute i reach out for him he gets scared and moves off. we think the guy that bred him thought he was "in his space" and whacked him. How do i help him overcome that fear of being approached, he is really good with everything else. been doing this for 40 years. never had this at this age

    • @cnahorses
      @cnahorses  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hi Amanda! Practice and repetition make perfection! Some horses are more flighty and hesitant than others. Just keep practicing approaching your colt. Start slow and build up speed. Every time you approach him give him some good rubbings and he’ll start liking you coming into his space 😊 once he’s ready maybe my Crazy Dance method would help - czcams.com/video/jqD2oPShqGI/video.htmlsi=BG002gQwaOlkdYFF
      Crazy Dance is basically a approach and retreat method of desensitizing your horse to yourself.

  • @MomBuilds
    @MomBuilds Před 9 měsíci +1

    Why are you crouching down like youre stalking him when you ask him to yeild?

    • @cnahorses
      @cnahorses  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I crouch so that Kixs can see my body language change - when I crouch and start putting pressure on him that is his cue to move. When I stand up and have passive body language that is his cue to be still.
