- I get asked a lot about cutting EVA or PE foam boat flooring, so here is a rough vid of our process and the bits used. Sorry for the noise at 9:43 min in, we had to run the vacuum pump for another project.
Hope this info helps those who need it.

Wow thanks so much for helping out and showing the process. I am about to attempt my boats floor here soon.
Had to filter through all the useless EVA videos to finally find this one. You have the CAD, tooling info with speed & feed data, the tools, and the cuts. Great job. Informative, succinct, by the numbers video that has a wealth of 'how to'. This should be the go to video for anyone looking for the basics in CNC cutting EVA foam flooring. Thanks!!
Getting ready to cut carpet on a 29' Twin Vee and an 18' flats boat. Question: Was this tape with vacuum hold down or just taped? I'm using stick on backed EVA. Are there any issues with cutting EVA using a vacuum hold down?
This is with a vac hold down, we also tape the edges as the material isn't always flat.
Great results! I run some smaller stuff on my CNC but I run at 24k rpms and 300-350 IPM....get very good results as well. Maybe something you could try.
How did you manage to get an endmill tool to set to 0 RPM? Vectric prevents this now.
edit the gcode.
Where do you buy the raw material?
There are a lot of sites on line, Amazon especially. However SeaDek has updated their online store and have more options directly available than they did a year ago. Would recommend them.
