      @@gear_show Today i had seen again the video you restored this drill and i think i have the right answer
      The output you made in old video was thoughout the BMS maximum current of the BMS was only 20A but the starter current need more than so if the drill is original you can try to solder the wire output not thoughout the BMS i think it will be worked

    I wondered how you might deal with the battery, since it never was on the bottom of the grip.... I like the support bracket. Kind of looks like a handgun from a videogame called Borderlands 2......
    Obviously there is great benefit to using the same Makita 18v battery packs you have all over your shop... But for a little drill like this, it might have been simpler just to put 2 18650 cells together, make a new 7.2 volt (ish) pack, and run it that way???? You could have done that, you clearly have the expertise.... Just wondering.
    Either way, great job Sir.

    I think it best to keep original motor and convert to 2s Li-Ion (8.4v). Will the trigger switch be ok for 18v. Usually a 7.2v drill will only have a 12v rated trigger switch.

    Another great video.
    I think with 0,5 mm dia copper not enought for long time life.As you know 1 mm2 dia copper can carry 8 ampere (D.C)
    So 4x18=72 WattI don't know just watt to tork value calcuations but I know this fan colling to armature very important for efficieny and long motor life .you can use maybe you can add a current limiter circuit to old battery section .If you want
    you have great patience .Actualy this is show me patience must be for good referbushing
    Meanwhile you can make a slot for bits to add metal section (to trigger's cross area plastic drill holders or magnets)
    Great video Congrulations

    I love the armature rebuild;
    Question;
    The magnets for the 7.x volt are likely stronger and the new voltage would need weaker magnets?
    I guess; I would need to know the ohms of the original armature vs the newly rewired one.
    Magnets do matter.
    The push/pull strength? i.e. ebb/flow ?
    Anyhow.
