    • @OrtegaSauce
      @OrtegaSauce Před 2 lety +14

      It's an advantage more than you think. Being lefty in basketball helped me get more steals imo, because I'm like a mirror to the offense and I work better forcing them to their weak side which is my strong side for easier steals. In fighting sports left handed people (southpaws) are used to fighting right handed people, where both fighters' lead hands are on the same side, (imagine making a fighting pose in the mirror and you and the reflections front hand are on the same side) which is weird for regular fighters but more common for southpaws.
      Overall left handed people are able to do most things right handed people can, because they're more or less forced to learn it on the right then reteach themselves on the left. Bottom line, Lefties rule.

    • @milovanmilovanov2598
      @milovanmilovanov2598 Před rokem +2

      the chinese grip is unnatural, in the way you holding the racket, and the angles you hit the ball. As for "the normal" standard way. You can utalize the mechanics of your arm/body better.

    • @lastxp
      @lastxp Před rokem

      J Pen hold players can attack over the table easier getting the blade very close to the table surface taking the ball early but will usually have a harder time on the backhand side relying on footwork more. C pen gives more options but having more options can be more complicated. Shakehand is a good middle ground. Pistol grip adds more power but bigger playing elbow. Every style will have pros and cons and if a player is good enough at a certain style the cons become negligible.

    The other reason players wipe their hands on the table: It's a stalling tactic. They want more time to think about strategy, or to rest, so they stall by making it look like they're doing something legitimate so that the refs don't fault them. And it works. It buys them a couple more seconds between points.

    2. Players always blow the hand/racket

      1. someone says it Cho means ball in Chinese as if shouting ‘good BALL’. Fan zen song once shouted yes. I think it’s a game between him and Pitchford
      2. Sweat or to remove dust from racket
      3. Backhand flick being more aggressive and dominating. Traditional pen hold only has forehand
      4. Millions of people in China plays tt. And with their government supporting and electing potential players since youth. It’s quite obvious

      3. the back hand as penholders is much more difficult to master. And the european way just became simply a standard
      4. chinese are good in pretty mucb everything since they have a lot of people

    Us:"Is being left handed an advantage?
    Otto: It's not a real advantage,but usually *is easier to play against right handed players* .
    That is the whole point, making it easier, that is exactly what we asked:"Is it easier"

  • @muhammadaihababdullah1832

    Is it allowed if the racket hits the table while a match & makes a sound?

    • @eineente3153
      @eineente3153 Před 4 lety +1

      AFAIK it's not

    • @Ok-fu5yi
      @Ok-fu5yi Před 4 lety

      Muhammad Aihab Abdullah it actually is allowed if you don’t move the table or cause damage.

    • @mircumircu5773
      @mircumircu5773 Před 4 lety

      Yes it is. Just watch how many players hit the table when they are receiving a service. Of course, hitting the table deliberately it's not allowed.

    In our team, we have many players with pimples, long and short, I think the reason why we can't see pimples used by the top players is, because if you understand how to play against it you can use it as your advantage

    For the pimples I’ve heard that they have a low win % that’s why most pros don’t really use them

    3:26 onwards is that why Otto is better than Emil and Mikka or is just really good?🤔🤔🤔🤔

  • @classicleon
    @classicleon Před 4 lety

    1:30 Some Chinese players told me that - there are less and less pimple players in the higher classes because pimples are more difficult to handle high speed & high spins for 40+mm than 38mm. The ball is heavier and bigger than before, so the ball goes slower and the spin is smaller, but Kinetic energy becomes larger, which restuls more unstable rebounce. But inverted rubbers have better frications on the surface so it's more stable. The same theory was used for guns. People increased bullet caliber to enhance blocking force on the target to increase the possibility of an instant kill. So, ITTF will eventually kill all other types of rubbers by increasing ball in near future, IMO.

    Great q&a pongfinity. I think regular players who dont have sweat on their hands wipe their hands on the front corner of the table just to act like the pros.
