    Woof woof! Let's welcome a pack of Timber Wolves in the Elm Hill City Zoo! Today we will also talk a bit about the new DLC - the Europe Pack that comes out tomorrow!!! It is such an exciting time!!
    Elm Hill City Zoo is the series of sandbox speed build videos where I design and build habitats and facility buildings.
    Elm Hill City Zoo is my creation of typical older city zoo that is managed very well and has some of its parts renovated to suit the needs of animals and its guests. I am going to use some inspiration from the zoos I've been to as well as the photos and projects I collected on my Pinterest board.
    Hope you will enjoy this video! If you have any recommendations or tips on how I could improve my future videos please let me know in the comments.
    If you did enjoy the video please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and ring the bell to be notified every time I upload a new video. Thank you so much and see you in the next episode! Bye guys!

    It is your fault! Because of your films, I don't like my habitats anymore! I had to start all over again (I have had PZ only since last Christmas, so it's a small loss 😁)! But now seriously; I can see a difference in how I build habitats and buildings now (recently I made gutters for the first time 😮) Two days ago I finished the wolf habitat, although it is far from yours, but I can see how much different it is from my previous projects. Many thanks for your films, which taught me a lot and showed me a lot of inspiration. Great work and keep going

    I should start building more like this haha all my habitats are boxes or semi boxes that look pretty. I want to do those water sections between the view and the animals it looks so realistic

    • @CesarCreates
      @CesarCreates  Před 2 lety +4

      I love those habitats because they look way more natural without all the fances. It’s not so difficult actually to build something like that so you should definitely give it a go!

      Old post I know, but nothing wrong with box exhibits if it fits. First area of my latest zoo has a canyon motif, and the box exhibits seemed to fit.
      But yeah, I'm pretty envious of this kind of habit building skill too.

    I loved this habitat and I totally agree with you about making one thats best for the animal not just to make the guests happy. I remember when I went to a zoo where the tiger barely had any room outside that it was pacing back and forth. It almost looked like they were walking down a run way at a fashion show and I felt so bad for that cat bc tigers are such majestic animals to see if they are comfortable. Usually that's why I've always loved habitats that have semi private viewing areas, like overhangs or walkways with one way glass. Even if the animal isn't shy I still think doing the one way glass is great because then the animal is always the least stressed and will act naturally. That goes for real life and the game.

    • @CesarCreates
      @CesarCreates  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I absolutely agree! Zoo habitats should try recreate animal natural habitat to a certain extent. That means places to hide as well. Hope that zoos in the future will be getting better and better! Some of them have incredible habitats already!

    Another great habitat! Someone suggested adding the African Wild Dog next to the Wolves. That sounds to me like a good way to transition from the canids to maybe an African savannah area. Hope your computer can continue to handle this zoo!

    I'm literally binging all the Elm Hill City Zoo videos for almost 2 days straight and now I'm in Timber Wolf and this is my very first comment, just to appreciate all your builds! Truly awesome and magnificent, the attention to details just to match each habitats to the animal's natural environment is remarkable!
    And yes, I also do love canids and I'm so happy they do have their specific section in this zoo! Way to go Cesar. 🫡

    The hype you have with the new animals reminds me of when they announced the South American pack, I think that having them close and sharing territory generates more excitement than an animal from another part of the world.
    Great video 😉

    this is such a gorgeous build; I've really missed seeing your style and your attention to detail with the backstage areas - always my favourite part of your videos. for my part, I'm unbelievably excited about the fallow deer. I've been wanting deer since the very start of the game - they're such a mainstay of zoos all around the world, and I have fond childhood memories of seeing fallow deer at animl parks. I'm also really glad to see how excited you are about the Europe pack! as an Australian, I found the Aus pack a bit underwhelming (I'm still confused about them including cassowary as opposed to emu, which are iconic Australian zoo animals, for instance) so I'm glad that other people have a better experience with packs representing their own local animals (though I also sympathise with feeling like five animals just aren't enough!!). as always, your builds are hugely inspiring, and are really making me want to get back into building my own zoos again. I do have a question. because this is something I struggle with: what's your process for planning out the layout of your zoo?

    • @CesarCreates
      @CesarCreates  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so so much! The backstage areas are something that I have grown to love because firstly I really struggled with them. I totally get your point when it comes to the Australia Pack - for me the Koala spending most of it's time on the ground is also super weird and the lack of emu is just disappointing. When I plan my zoos I look for zoo maps and layouts in google images and try to find one that I like and somehow follow it or I draw my own map. It really helps with the order of the habitats and planning where everything should be positioned

    • @RobinWing2499
      @RobinWing2499 Před 2 lety

      @Cesar Creates thank you!! I definitely need to spend more time on google maps, then - I tend to try to wing it with the designing and getting discouraged. hopefully this will help me learn more about how real-life zoos fit together! (and I agree with the koala thing - koalas in real life almost never touch the ground, so I find them really disappointing in PZ and a strange choice when compared to wombats or tree kangaroos for other popular zoo animals that might work better with the AI!)

  • @alexisdorris272
    @alexisdorris272 Před 2 lety +2

    At first I was disappointed the fallow deer was chosen over the red, but they've grown on me. They're the only animal from the new pack that can be consistently found all over zoos in the United States (where I'm from) as well as Europe. We tend to prefer our own species of lynx and badger (fun fact, a total of 0 American zoos have euro badgers in their collections) and though the ibex is common, it just doesn't excite me personally. The fallow deer and the building pieces definitely saved this otherwise kinda lame pack for me, as an American, but it's super exciting for Europe! Maybe one day I'll build a European zoo and get more use out of them, but for now I'm just along for the ride. Can't wait to see you build with the new pack!

    • @CesarCreates

    Personally, I'm always excited for new animals in the game, no matter where they come from or what they are, but I definitely relate to the idea of being more excited for animals based on where they come from. One of my biggest wants are white tailed deer, an animal I see all the time where I live, but I fear they'll never make it in just because they're so similar to fallow deer and red deer.

    • @CesarCreates
      @CesarCreates  Před rokem +1

      I also love all the animals that they are adding! I am really happy about each and every one of them (I feel like it's getting quite rare in the community as I see more and more people complaining) but I have to say that being from Europe it always makes me a little more excited when the animal is from my region! Still waiting for my pals - the wild boars, the pine martens and hares to be added to the game 😆

    I personally prefer to divide areas up by biome or continent rather than whether they are a big cat, a canid, a bear or an ungulate. I think it actually makes the zoo feel a lot more diverse.

    Gosh you are so right about tjw Stork, I didn't even think about it. They could totally have reskinned the flamingos and such, since zoo Storks generally can't fly.

    Another very nice habitat. How do you know how big to build the habitats? I always look at the Zoopedia and the enclosures I build are either way too huge or too small. How you do that ?

    • @CesarCreates
      @CesarCreates  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thank you so much!! What I often do before building the habitat is adding the habitat barriers first and clicking on the habitat gate to see how many square meters the are has in the habitat tab. I also use the scarecrow feeder for a scale as it has exact the same size as the human in the game 🤓
