Fun Fact: The full, uncut stomp montage clocks in at a length of about 4 minutes and 50 seconds, and contained all 645 stomps in the entire playthrough (I kept track of all of them). The PAIN song was not long enough to keep playing throughout the whole thing. Truly, they loved the pain
Holy SHIT you kept track of all the stomps? I think you like the PAIN!
Oh shoot, Keku, am I stupid? I was watching all your stuff on your own channel, I had no idea you were an editor for Vinny. For how long! Am I stupid?!
@@peaberry9413 nah you're not stupid. I've been on the editing team for a bit over a year now. Got a playlist of the ones i've edited on my channel
Yo where does the pain song meme come from? like how did it come to be
Just watched it, was amazing
“Issac, make us speen.”
"Make us Toad again."
Did not expect to see you here Jack, you’re cool
You do not recognize the Vinnys in the fire.
Making Issac talk in the remake works a lot more than I thought it would tbh. What sold me is the first line I hear is him voicing concern. It always made me laugh how much a needlessly stoic asshole he was to see a dude get ripped apart and just go “hhhh”. If they made him flail his arms around as well, it would really sell the panic in that part imo
Isaac's screaming is like the best screams i have heard ever, dude obliterates his vocal cords
I was really positively surprised as well on how much giving him a voice helped, it gave Isaac more agency, made the relationships make more sense, and just overall more depth.
-Agency, in that he's the engineer brought along for his expertise, in the original Hammond the security officer and Kendra the computer analyst were saying out loud the objectives that they technically "shouldn't know" but were forced to order Isaac around because of the limitation of a mute protagonist, now in the remake Isaac is the expert who knows how to fix the engineering problems that are the obstacles he faces, it just makes you feel more empowered as well as just roots you more into the scenario with less hand-waving and suspension of disbelief.
-They could retroactively work in a lot more nuance to the whole Nicole & Isaac relationship so that it would stop being mere windowdressing as it was in the original, and have more of the actual elements as were built into DS2, the added subplots, him getting react to Nicole, just is an overall improvement over the OG.
-I just loved how they also made some cool details like how when Isaac slowly got crazier, it was clear he was sort of aware of it, the tired way he addresses Kyne later in the game ("if you're real...") and he almost spitefully wants to wrestle the necromorphs for the marker in the hangar.
-They did all of this without going overboard, it could have been so easy for a AAA studio to make their protagonist nonstop chatter about every single "thought" they have and spell out every single puzzle solution out loud for the player and quip and need to voice their opinions about every event occurring in front of them, but Motive practiced restraint, and it made for a compelling character, a no-nonsense engineer who's emotionally very damaged already long before getting onboard the Ishimura, but still tries to cling to their problem-solving practical reasonable mindset and their conflicting desperate hopes.
it's cool that Isaac gets different voice lines if you do the side stuff, he stops sounding like a scared dude at his limit, and more like the marker has it's claws fully in him, and he's totally okay with it
Also the same voicelines have different deliveries depending if you are healthy/injured/out of breath
WHAT THE HELL VINNY REALLY IS IN THAT FIRE WTF
Was there when they had Mike find Vinny in the fire. Never have I seen a worse example of chatrot in my life.
32:30 "Death is a very skiBIDI TOILET"
The skibidiest of all toilets perhaps
16:00 If dude was going to go, he was going to go in the Family Guy death pose.
So if I remember correctly, here's a bit of trivia about the whole "they brought in on board" trope for this game:
It was brought on board because of the death cult, the death cult was created when people were first exposed to the marker found on earth.
The cults influence grew over the years.
So yeah they brought in on board because to the death cult created by the marker a marker is a holy relic, it also helps the marker makes people go crazy so they probably weren't thinking logically.
I am still floored how well they translates a voice into this beautifully dark, voiceless protagonist game.
Issac just cursing out tool companies when he runs out of ammo or something on the ship breaks is the most relatable thing in a video game.
Well considering he voiced Isaac in Dead Space 2 and 3, I'd assume they already had a good template to work with when it came to incorporating his dialogue into Dead Space 1.
They just had to bring his grunts, groans and cursing into gameplay lol
Not only that, but his delivery changes depending on his health. Isaac speaks clearly at green health, but his voice gets shaky and full of unsteady breathing if he's heavily injured. That is some damn fine attention to detail. When EA _tries_, they can occasionally do amazing things.
@@BetaBreakinghe's been the va since the original, he just did the grunts and death screams in DS1
I remember this game got me good- it broke the one unspoken rule of games like this since Resident Evil 1: You see a save point, you are safe. There was a save room in this where just above the save point there was a necromorph hiding clinging to the ceiling. I just felt so betrayed!
5:51 If this were original Dead Space, Vinny would've been cut in half.
I think he did get cut in half on the OG during this part lol
26:45 his forgetting Skinner's name halfway through the steamed hams bit really heralded another resurgence in that bit on his stream
But Skinner is the one the one talking. Superintendent Chalmers would have been correct.
The Doctor sounds like Jerma's Jigsaw GAS voice.
He wanted to smell the smelly smells, so he turned the Ishimura's crew into meat zombies so they could expel GYAS.
It also sounds a bit like a calmer, more understated version of Vinny's Dracula voice. There's a distinct twang of "MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF SECRETS" in the Doctors voice.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that
Love that Vinny enjoyed this one so much, easily my favorite Dead Space game. Prooobably favorite horror game, period.
Also love how much Vinny got pulped.
That looked like Vinny in that fire tho.
I was thinking that it couldn’t look like him that much. I was wrong
@HugoIsThatGuy it's literally that picture of vinny with a microphone at a conference or something, and he has that brown item box hat on.
I have no idea if people are just playing along or if there’s actually a recognizable face in that photo
It’s the Binfoot phenomenon.
Human brains were created to see faces in everything. That's just how our brains work. So I don't understand why some people are making this such a big deal
Vinny casually saying Skibidi feels surreal to me.
Ah yeah, pulping!
This is some top quality meat content
I like watching vinny cause he gives me cool little assignments like finding the "pulling interview" which I'm gonna go watch and then come back to this
Reminder that we arent getting a Dead Space 2 remake because this remake failed to meet EA's profit estimates
>:(
@@thajord5464 I bought the helmet edition and I feel ROBBED that we won't get an advanced suit helmet edition
Such a great remake! I sure do hope that EA doesn't shove an online-only DRM on it that makes it run at half-speed and makes modding impossible! The only thing that could be worse than that is if they were to tell the dev team that it underperformed and then make them work on Battlefield.
pain stomp remix went hard
11:52 This line makes me wish they had kept the original motif of Isaac being voluntarily silent in the first game. I remember this particular line cementing how potent it is from a narrative standpoint to make Isaac feel like he’s voluntarily quiet because he is brooding, as if he’s aware of the trauma he’s carrying from his relationship and his whole situation. This remake really does justice to the original game in basically every other important aspect though :)
Which line?
i prefer to think he was silent in DS1 because he was in shock the whole time and it was all just a frenzied, barely-conscious blur for him. the necromorphs are so scary that even your hero devolves into this hunching, roaring, desperate animal more or less on contact, becoming kind of like the necromorphs themselves.
while i like what they did with him in the remake, i do wish they had leaned into this aspect for the first chapter or two. yeah he's crisis-trained to fix the Ishimura, but he's still a little too level-headed for a regular guy who just saw those things for the first time. when he revisits the Ishimura in 2 he stutters and pauses and speaks very quietly and tersely, so having him be in that type of state for some of the game and gradually going back into "fed up engineer at 4:50pm on a Friday" mode would have been cool.
Loved the first game but no interest in the remake so this was a cool recap. The ending double twist was pretty cool. I think the Isaac VA did a good job but I still think there's something special to the original Isaac just being silent the entire time.
That outro makes me :goblinPls:
"Isaac, i'm edging the monolithussy, you wouldn't understand"
Sead Dpace
I love the vibrato Vinny makes when he prolongs his "Vinny Sounds". OoooouuuuuUuUuuuuUuuUuu~ shit
Ok tho, think about the free pizza thing: you can feed the hungry, whenever you want.
13:13 I thought the doctor farted at first
2:48 Holy crap, I see Vinny.
Vinny playing this remake makes me want to be a streamer that makes just as many people happy as he does. I almost feel bad spoiling my immersion of Deadspace by watching this, but it makes me happy.
Halloween in july huh wait this isnt mandalore
We need a full length version of the Pain Pulp mix.
‘By then it’s much too late’
I’ve seen everything 😮
binyooot

Loved this game and Vinny's playthrough, fun nostalgia to revisit these highlights
Shame EA never let Motive fix the stutters or make a DS2remake.
Imagine replacing all the necromorph noises with various pufferfish AUGH noises.
I feel like vinny would really like system shock 2
come sit next to the marker, Ithacc...
DAD SPACE
Vinny, try that security console
I would not be surprised if the game devs sampled Grapefruit your man for some of these sound effects
"That's just the type of game this is, chat" says the man as he lifts his foot to stomp the corpse into oblivion
Gotta love that EAs already abandoned any hope of remaking DS2 like this. Not exaggerating, they really went ahead and remade DS1 just to immediately fuck off already.
Well, blame the people who didn’t buy the game because “Isaac talks now” and other nitpicky stuff
@@sharpie3811 That too, yeah. Seems to be quite the trend these days where people will write off games for the dumbest shit.
@@sharpie3811Shouldn't have made him talk then
@@sharpie3811 Not saying that I dislike the change, but deriding someone disliking a decision that changes how the core narrative works as being "nitpicky" is asinine.
@@083_muhammadammarruhullah5 But for people to say it “completely ruins the game” and not buy it because of that, and other stuff such as that is just plain stubborn.
when Vinny yelled SHADDUP I was rolling
italian man in space
You should do this for all games!
based pulp compilation by Keku the editor ❤
23:12 vinny is James Sunderland
A really cool remake!
THAT ENDING MONTAGE
Dead Space 3 really isn't all that bad. It's not a great Dead Space game but it's a decent 3rd person horror shooter. It's like Resident Evil 5.
unironically would love some Eels Aren't Real merch
MY BOY KEKU GETTING WHAT THEY DESERVE!!
excellent intro sounds
I wonder how the scene from 3:38 to 34:55 plays out differently based on what weapon you're holding, or of you have ammo for it...
imagine if you have nothing left, and it just kills you
2:47 that's The Edge from U2.
Vinny? Nooooo no no! That's just V-Dub! 2:47
I remember the ending of this game making me extremely angry. Here I was, trying to rescue my Ex, but she was the reason the whole outbreak started!
18:41 TESTICULAR TORSION!!!
That was an absolutely stellar edit @kekulism. I guess Vinny was fine too
ngl one of the best videos he's made.
Honestly, I see Kojima in that fire more than Vinny
the necromorphs have always been a little goofy imo
The only knowledge i have of this game is from the LittleBigPlanet level
that stomp compilation was incredible
2:48 that does look like vinny
nice
Deadmake, the ReSpace
29:37 I would take my perfect dream game. Also what if the monkey paw effect is its any pizza what if it’s a pizza I don’t like?
30:25 you either poop out your butt or once a year someone slaps you.
One of them I already do and the other is objectively bad, unless you spin it to mean you can only get slapped once a year which is only useful if you get slapped more than once a year.
Hell yes
Just to let yall know this video may not be the best if you're having dinner lmao
❤
Greetings
Vinny please go to a pet store, more specifically an aquarium. There are multicolored eels for sale all over the us and theyre really cool looking, something about them reminds me of a goomba face

Oh boy I do hope that people don't get mad if the Next remake gets adjusted to the end a little bit different, cause that can revive the franchise, imagine a Dead Space series, where Dead Space 3 never happened ❤
Would be so up for that, it doesn't even have to be Isaac Clark, it also can be a a Space scavenger or a survivor from the Dead Space 2 incident
Everything but Dead Space 3 remake, please don't fuck it up EA and Motive
27:25 ... what lmfao
While playing Dead Space 3 is an atrocious ask, the remake team has mentioned that they intend to get to that point and fix what was wrong with it, including its stupid dead-end story EA pushed, so perhaps far from now we will finally get a Dead Space 4 and a 3 more worth talking about.
Hilarious compilation!!!!! I bet this won’t even be the best compilation the FF7 Rebirth Is Gonna Be Even Better
10/10, pulping and TESTICLE off the charts!
This is a fantastic remake but it did some weird stuff. I think the voice acting is a bit better for some of the characters in the original
Jesus Christ loves you!
Awesome video. Subscrible
I have the original on ps3 does that count?
Annoys me to no end that EA claimed this game didn't sell enough
They had a slim chance of becoming a half decent company but just went back to sniffing their own farts
how do you guys pronounce “issac”/“isaac”? like “ai-sick” or “eye-sack”
Eye-zuck
Eye-zeck
goblinPls
This game uses alot of clichés huh
It felt super unique back in 2008. It felt kinda grounded back then. But I was in my mid teens so that may be nostalgia talking.
7 second gang
nope
Nevermind all the great enjoyment to get out of the remake, as Vinny said in the beginning, "we didn't need a remake", so I guess all the enjoyment goes into the trash.
This is absolutely brilliant! Much better than all the Resident Evils put together.
I hope EA changes their mind and starts production of a Dead Space 2 Remake.
Only one downside-from the very beginning to the halfway point of the game, I experienced severe frame drops and an FPS around 100, but 99% of the time the FPS was around 40. (i7-13750HX, 16GB, RTX 4060). The settings are not demanding. DLSS helps a little bit.
Oh no, 40 fps!
How did you survive!?
(nobody cares about your computer)
@@C.I... 🤡🤡🤡
Maybe not all the Resident Evils together, but it's definitely better than some of RE's weaker entries.
I can't get invested in Resident Evil, 2 & 4 are products of its time. But Resident Evil 7 is definitely the best one since it manages to be scary, instead of the corny thrillers the franchise keeps pumping out. But the developers for 7 were in a constant battle against the higher ups to stop them from adding season passes and changing the story to service microtransactions and DLC.
So to summarise, Resident Evil is boring but 7 was cool.
@@scrittle Yes, I agree, RE7 is the only part that truly offered something a bit different, unlike 2, 3, 4, and 8, which could even have been made into one long game, and nothing would have changed. I hope that after the release of Dead Space Remake and Alan Wake 2, Capcom will decide to make changes in their development approach, especially in level design and story
