Reviewing the 1/24 Mercedes-Benz 190 E (W201) by Leo Models (WhiteBox)

Today I'm presenting a very rare 1/24 model car in my collection: The 1983 Mercedes-Benz 190 E made by Leo Models, but one which you can sometimes also find listed as being made by White Box.
Pros:
- satisfyingly detailed front, incl. iconic W201 grille and tinted blinkers
- thin, photo-etched Mercedes-Benz star hood ornament
- hinge mechanism underneath the hood
- iconic 80s Mercedes-Benz rims
- trunk opens (as well! on this 1/24) and even features a warning triangle
- comes with hard-plastic display case
Cons:
- several pegs on tail lights
- quality control issues, like scratches on windshields, glue residue on chrome, hair trapped beneath paint, dent on rims etc.
Still, a very good alternative to those who consider 1/43 too small, and don't have the cash to buy the terribly overpriced AUTOArt Millenium 1/18 Mercedes-Benz 190 E for a price that is essentially 10% of how much the pre-owned 1/1 REAL CAR sells for in car dealerships. I'd rather pay 10 times the AUTOArt's price and just get the real car to drive around the block :D

This model released first years ago in the "Auto vintage" italian press collection has since been reissued several times, each time in a different color.
You may find it in red color, metallic grey, dark blue...
Currently it is easy to find in dark blue.
The level of quality is excellent for this 1:24 scale: 4 opening parts, fine details (what the Merco star on the bonnet for example).
Now this is not the best Leo because one of the best feature of them is a fully painted and decorated interior and here on this 190E everything is full black like in Burago or a Maisto or any other 1:24 toy Have a loo for example to the Peugeot 205 GTI with its red carpets on the floor, 2 shades of grey seats, painted door panels with the typical red "GTI" line....and still 4 opening parts!
I think I should review that model on my channel :)

I like the way you expose your models, and yeah it's a pretty decent 1/24 model, I own an equal car but in blue colour, I got it with another two WhiteBox, a BMW 318i and a Fiat 600 Multipla, the models are really nice, the only drawback is that they don't come with functional steering.
By now WhiteBox has a wide variety of models, but you're right, most of them are available on EBay.

Isnt this model based on the old burago model with the same stamp?

i don't think so. the hood is sealed on the bburago and the wheels and headlights and front grille are different
