    I've been dating a Nigerian woman for 7 months now and almost everything you said was things I've experienced too!!
    It took me awhile to learn that she is not mad when her voice raises, but as you said, she passionate!!
    I absolutely love it too!!
    Have a Great Day!!!

    My favorite thing David mentioned was the PASSION in Adanna's voice. So many people just assume black women are just angry, but it's the passion behind out voices that other people interpret as aggressive.

      @shantelrscott Před 5 lety +5

      I live in a very predominantly white town and when I speak I’m very passionate when I speak so when I’m engaging in conversation of specific topics that passion comes out and it’s not disrespectful or offensive but it’s more intense and deeply felt and I tell the person or persons whom I am speaking with that I’m not angry or upset I’m just a very passionate speaker. I forewarn them so they can understand where this voice is coming from and for the most part they let me know that, that was their assumption all along. I think that it is very important for people to take the time to listen to what we are saying and our tone and try to differentiate passionate instead of anger lol. I love that David picked up on the difference.

    For years i was dumbfound why black women were so keen on doing their hair. But then i faced the learning curve and realized: HAIR FOR BLACK WOMEN IS HUGE CULTURAL THING. Just like some of us are collecting exceptional stamps or other old things or creating music, writing poems, some people are creating new culture with brilliant gorgeous hair style. So don't make any mistakes you male of what ever color: hair is not just individual detail. It's culture.

    • @fatimakeita3261
      @fatimakeita3261 Před 9 lety +4

      Stephany Richards i understand your point but not everything needs to be regarded negatively. There are stereotypes about all people & yes we shouldn't go along with it but again not everything needs to be an offense. Also am aware of the title, it fits because she is a BLACK WOMAN as majority of AFRICANS are black! 99% of the comments he said applied to women across the border, i see the funny in it & was simply trying to express that since you seem to have taken offense to it, but I see my error in trying to get you to see it in such a way. Have a blessed day

I do love the openness you have with your love, and the fact that you pitch in with her hair. For her to even have ever allowed you to do that in the first place shows her love and trust of you. Venom's Pain growing up I felt like black men didn’t like black women and I always hear them say negative things about us. Which is why I grew up distrusting them thinking that they would never find me attractive anyways. Now that I’m 20 I have been asked out by really nice smart and successful black men and I said no only based on this feeling

    I laughed so hard. This is so so true. My husband would tell me all the time " why are you yelling?" And I go " I am not yelling, am i?". I never realized it until he told me . And one day I invited my african friend over and we were speaking french( my husband only speaks english), he says " are you guys fighting? Lol. 😂😂😂. Same thing when my siblings visited me . When he el hears them Talk he would hide and tell me "I think they are fighting " for my sisters most of the time it was true because they fight all the time those teenagers. So i learned not to be loud in public but when i am home, it's on!!!!😂😂.I don't like hugging people when I have make up on because it gets everywhere😤, or I have to look up really high so my chin Doesn't touch the shoulder.

      +Hakeber Same here. I tend to find loud people obnoxious. The ones I have come across tend to be mean spirited. They want people to hear them because they like the attention. It would be one thing if they were loud yet articulate; unfortunately swear words and ebonics tend to be the jargon of choice.

    Our hair is our crown and glory so that's why we put so much into it. I spend more time on my hair than I do shopping and shopping can be an all day event especially if I'm looking for something special--I end up going to four or five stores just to find one item and don't let me into a shop that has so many cute/cool things.
