    Thank you very much for the great lecture. After watching your lecture, one question arose. If optical fibers arranged in series are used to collect blue light generated from IP, does noise occur due to loss of light in the gap between optical fibers?

    I am a little confused on where the Photomultiplier and ADC comes into play. Is this something in the IP reader? After going through the steps of how CR works, I am confused where this is at...

    • @meaghanpiretti7340
      @meaghanpiretti7340  Před rokem +1

      The PMT is inside the reader. The imaging plate is being read with the red laser inside the reader. It emits the blue light which is collected by the PMT. It converts the light to the electrical signal before sending it to the ADC. The ADC is a component that takes an electrical signal and makes it a digital one, this is how we see the image produced on the monitor.

      The phosphor layer of the CR plate is a photostimulable phosphor. It comes from the fluorohalide family. With any x-ray equipment you should know the parts, the order they go in, and what job they do!

  • @DJsJewelry
    @DJsJewelry Před rokem

    So my teacher has a different order than what you have for the imaging plate. She has
    Protective
    Phosphor
    Reflective
    Conductive
    Support
    Backing

    • @DJsJewelry
      @DJsJewelry Před rokem

      So I don't know which order to memorize them in.

      Hi Dani, I understand this can be confusing since different sources have varied information. Personally I have found radtech bootcamp to be the most up to date source. Do you know what source your professor is using?

      @@meaghanpiretti7340 im honestly not sure. But studying wise I also have the Lange flash cards and the names of the layers are different.
