Excellent video the only one thing I would add is if ur car has traction control to remove the sensors in order to push the axles in far enough in order for the C clips to come out
Good video man. About to do the same thing on my 02 Z28. Pretty sure it's carrier and/or pinion bearing because my noise is a growling/roaring noise under light to moderate load whule cruising. Goes away on decel or and cant tell if it there or not on hard acceleration (headers, no cats, and an old blownout loudmouth muffler, my version of "turning up the radio to fix it" lol). Would think wheel bearings would not be more or less noticeable depending on load...instead it would just be a constant noise, on accel and decel. Anyways, i noticed that i have "catchy" spots when i turn my rear wheels by hand, like it takes some force then you can feel it catch a little then roll smoothly, really hoping my lsd is screwed up or my axles bent...but guess ill find out when i get there lol. I decided to go 4.10, I know I'm on borrowed time already, since I have a t56. Mine is a heads, cam, and was a nitrous car, with drag radials. I don't plan on doing hard 1st gear launches, when I go to the track I plan on bogging off the line a little and letting the new 4.10's help get me out of the hole from a roll, and roll the gears. On the street I'll bang shift it if I find somebody worth playing with.
Great video, 2 questions if you don’t mind, is the yoke supposed to be that stiff/tight to turn by hand when freshly tight with everything and did you end up having any noise?
It should be snug but not tight and I have a little noise on deceleration because it was a huge PITA trying to set the backlash without the proper depth tool. But I still run it.
You know they have crush sleve elimators that are just spacers and you don't have to go through all that work and 342 to 373 is really not very noticeable I know because I done it I wish I would've went to 410 gears
Thanks, didn’t know about the spacer sleeves. Probably would be a lot easier. I knew the 3:73 weren’t a big change but I was worried about fuel mileage on the highway. I should’ve just done the 4:10 also
Hi, you would want a differential rebuild kit for your vehicle making sure it has shim. Sometimes u have to buy shims separate. And gears are also purchased separate. Sorry for the late reply. I’m not popular I don’t get to many replies to my videos

Maro4life. Ty for the comment. In the case of TCS with individual abs sensor on each wheel that may be the case yes. Appreciate the feedback

Could I know exactly what kit I would need if I was doing the same to my camaro 2000 ?

Any part nubers for the kit and axle bearings???
No sorry it was a while ago but I’m pretty sure I got the kit off Rockauto
