  • You know what it is. Another day, another stream of Elden Ring. I'm not sure if more info for Shadow of the Erdtree is going to be released, but if we do get some more DLC news, I'll probably cover that for a bit before going into videos by some other folks. Videos covered TBD.

I'm very early in this video, but at about 13 minutes you talk about how beings that accumulate enough power may just trend toward dragon-like features and are searching for a term to describe that phenomenon. I think what you were looking for was 'convergent evolution', when creatures that aren't closely related wind up developing physical and behavioral similarities as a result of the same environmental influences. And that's very interesting, in relation to dragons, the elden beast, and other things in the lands between that seem to be gaining the qualities of dragons, like rune bears.

12:00 considering the One Great, Elden Stars and the Farum Azula Elden Ring another possibility is that the Elden Beast is the direct progenitor of the (Ancient) Dragons, itself being a more abstract cosmic entity.
45:20 maybe I missed one but the horned entities in the DLC previews seem distinct in that they only grow "reasonable" sets of horns, not "excessive" such as Mohg getting his own eye pierced. I think that supports the idea of the Omen being essentially unwanted dregs of the Erdtree life recycling system, the distilled remnants of those horned entities in the DLC previews so opposed to the Golden Order that the Erdtree itself rejects them (according to the Seedbed Curse). That would also explain why Omen, unlike regular Crucible-touched beings such as Misbegotten, have such an affinity for vengeful spirits and are constantly tormented by them. Poetically it's the spite of those Marika(/Messmer?) purged seeping through, mechanically a lot of those killed were probably fed to the Erdtree and thus their memories/"souls" entered its system.
1:13:20 does the Japanese grammar of the Telescope description lend itself to any further insights regarding the chronology of the (age of the) Erdtree and the Golden Order? Also how does that align with Radahn's "Starscourge" conflict which should have occurred well after the creation of the Golden Order?
