  • Many months ago I talked about a really ambitious song I was working on that would have been my largest Soundtrap project to date.
And this is that project, a remix of a Genesis track with 90s styled instrumentation from various synthesizers at the time, and a lot of work put into mixing.
That said despite my intentions on wanting this to sound CD Qualityish, due to the fact I had to entirely use samples because Soundtrap doesn't allow VSTs, the sound quality is more similar to ROMplers from the time.
Still, I think this project shines really brightly despite that, and showed me how far I can push Soundtrap and its sample abilities. And it will inspire multiple other projects like this where I take obscure 90s VGM from various systems and re-arrange them to sound CD quality-ish.

== Process of making this ==
First off, I created my own MIDI for this track that I could use to re-arrange, since I'm terrible at transcribing music so carefully and this track would require a ton of careful look overs. And how I made the MIDI was from converting the original Genesis VGM track to MIDI it's self with vgm2midi.
