Barong and Kris Dance This famous dance is performed at the Pura Dalem in Ubud. It is the story off the endless struggle of the Barong ( the Good) and Rangda (the Evil).
@@Alusnovalotusmaybe its too late to answer but i'll explain it to u , Rangda is the demon queen of the Leaks in Bali, according to traditional Balinese mythology. Terrifying to behold, the child-eating Rangda leads an army of evil witches against the leader of the forces of good - Barong. The battle between Barong and Rangda is featured in a Barong dance which represents the eternal battle between good and evil
bali used to be such a beautiful country. my father was friends with a balinese doctor who worked (and in the end married) in europe and we visited that fascinating country 12 times while i was in my teens, that was about 20 years ago. those journeys were breath-taking and after all these years i still think back to them a lot. all the temples, the wild nature, the dances, the cuisine, the religious offerings and ceremonies, the open hospitality and curiosity of the natives who often had not seen any european/kaukasian in their entire life (this was a time before the internet and most people did not own a TV). those journeys really formed a big part of who i am and how i perceive the world and myself as well as others nowadays. it was one of the happiest times of my life for sure. unfortunately, when i visited bali last summer for the first time again in so long (it is really, really crazy expensive) i barely recognized it anymore... its culture truely has become a commercial sell out for tourists and all the "charm" is gone, everything is just "give dollar, give dollar" and all the places are so crowded. especially in the southern, more urban parts of the isle in and around Kuta which looked way, way different from back in the days. all the mc donald's and iphone stores were little shrines, small spice shops and fruit markets in my memories, it was truely sad to see. but as always, there is a bright side: if you want to experience this country in a more pure, less western-influenced way i would recommend you travel to the northern shore and to the west. there, if you leave the main paths and go into the smaller villages beyond the tourist shops, you will (if you are lucky) still find the "true" bali that has not been corrupted by modern technology, money and all the millions of australian/western tourists.
I hear that sentiment a lot but I can tell you... that goes for everywhere including the west. When I go to old mountain villages, now Skitowns, here in Switzerland where I'm from, or to my hometown in the mountains for that matter, I can tell you it's just like that. The original culture and way of life has been heavily influenced if not mostly displaced, and there come the tourists and modernity. And a bunch of investors waving wads of cash. That's just how it goes. And quality of life is a lot better for the locals accordingly. Where I come from the catholic church ruled with an iron fist, and in Bali where I have spent a good amount of time myself the temple caste ruled, and still does, and also with a rather cold embrace. Different place same story. It's easy to look from the outside in at the aesthetic layer and romanticise it when you yourself aren't affected by local customs and traditions (culture). Same with Japan: Looks pretty but it's a harsh place to live. But I agree, avoid the south and go north, lol.
Bali known as The last Paradise on eart. Where you can feels diferent taste of hig valuable of art and culture. Its going grow up along with modern life. It was unbellievable the balinesse people can do. Life with modern cloths but inside with balinesse spirit.. that wonderful things that we can learned from balinese peoples. There is saying in Japanese that shortens the way to say "Modern living with native spirit", 和魂洋才 Wakon Yousai "Western knowledge with the Old spirit". It is similar in Japan, we both developed after the structure of western high society but the artful tradition and belief can co-exist. All things people achieve, after all, is within the knowledge of gods. The internet and technology, soul can flow through these things. Without spirit to restrain, human knowledge only compels us to satisfy our greed

There are 2 part of balinese dance 1. Balinese dance for ritual to the Hindu gods 2. Balinese dance for tourists And in this video is for tourists entertainment
Idiot , Durga/Kali ks a goddess . They are the incarnations of Goddess Parvati , who is nature herself , the poaitive force behind creation . Rangda is a witch , demoness who is killed by Barong
