      Taser 10 looks to me spray and pray for a connection which looks like Axon’s intent in the design. it took 5 shots to take down the female volunteer and 3 for Rick.
      The Taser 10 is a very good attempt, probably the best one so far simply because of the new magazine. Axon still has to tackle the issue of the darts bouncing off targets.

    The ability to fire each prob individually is probably one the biggest game changers for the CEW market.

  • @Kiavich
    @Kiavich Před 9 měsíci +9

    I think we're absolutely going to see some growing pains in some departments that don't properly train their officers before deploying them with these new CEWs (e.i; body camera incidents of an officer deploying one probe, and forgetting to deploy the second probe in a panic) but with a little bit of proper training, I absolutely think independently targettable, precise probes are a vast improvement to a dual-probe technique. Curious to see if any upcoming CEWs intend to use an AI-enhanced targeting system. With as advanced as machine learning and AI models have become, I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 years we have a taser capable of aiming two probes in the locations on a subject it feels will allow for the highest chance of incapacitation.

    I like how the Taser 10 is more powerful. I work security and I deployed an X2 twice on a guy with a hoodie and a t-shirt underneath and sweatpants. All 4 darts hit him. 2 darts above the belt line and 2 below the belt line. It was ineffective. He briefly flinched at the loud sound of the CEW deploying. Otherwise, it had no effect on him. I also like how each dart fires individually instead of 2 darts firing simultaneously, makes it much easier to split the belt line and from farther away as well. It just really sucks that it's classified as a firearm because that's the main reason I'm not allowed to carry a 10 on shift.

  • @thundercheeks6716
    @thundercheeks6716 Před rokem +11

    I have used a Taser twice in my career and both were ineffective. Both had a spread of over a foot and one had the suspect literally rip one of the probes out. The taser is a good tool but there has been conversations of phasing it out because they are so unreliable and easy to defeat. I hope this jump in tech can fix that.

  • @sisu9663

    seems like they're going back in taser technology. one pull of the trigger is one prob. You'll have to pull the trigger a second time for it to have any effect plus no drive stun feature.

    I see this being a very good tool with very bad launch results, for years taser fired two probes with one trigger pull with immediate response being the effect, with this you have to “double tap” or more if you wish, I see this being a very big learning curve for taser users to now treat this more as a firearm style usage where you shoot more than once. I think a lot of cops are gonna do one trigger pull and not get the effect panic then go to another use of force option at initial launch

      @lukeandrews3117 Před rokem

      That's not exactly accurate. To get NMI lockup you need two probes, preferably splitting the beltline and a lot of times a drive stun would be used as well adding a third point of contact for even better lockup.
      Older tasers deployed 2 probes with one press of the trigger. The taser 10 only deploys 1. This is why it takes more trigger presses. They also appear to be placing the probes closer together to showcase that you can control your own spread.
