    I’ve always washed with alcohol and peroxide as part of my laundry routine. The peroxide removes stains without altering the clothing and the alcohol disinfects plus deodorizes. It’s a staple in my routine and I find my clothes smell and look better. Tfs 😘🖤

      White/Buffalo sage too! It's not endangered but most white sage you buy from any type of metaphysical store is NOT harvested morally, and does harm to the plant! This is a plant that is culturally important to a lot of Indigenous cultures, so people suggest you only use it when it is given as a gift from said cultures or to try growing your own.

  • @ellenmason3833
    @ellenmason3833 Před 4 lety +20

    Sage, Palo Santo, positive affirmations, and music are the most important part of my cleaning process. Being in the moment as I clean is almost Zen like for me. You can wash away any negative residue from your mind as you physically wash it away from your space. The energy of thrifted items is so important too. Both of my sons study karate and when they graduate from one belt to the next, the sensei rubs the new belt on his forehead before presenting it as they bow to each other. The reason is to impart not just the energy but the knowledge and wisdom into the belt before the student wears it.

    • @Jennifer_Lewis_Beach_Living

      You’re right about this. It’s a very good idea to wash clothing (new or old) after bringing them home, regardless of whether the thrift store cleans the clothing or not. I also say it’s a good idea to wash new clothes because imported clothing often put a chemical on the clothing to prevent pests, mold and mildew from getting on the clothes when shipping to the stores.

    That's so interesting about the energy from thrifted clothes. I had a bad experience recently where I bought several items from thrift stores. When I got them home I realised several of them smelt of toxic detergent/perfume/hairspray and it triggered me to have a migraine. I had to throw one out as it got ruined when I tried to remove the smell, I will redonate another and I'm attempting to wash two items with vinegar and a hotter wash. I kept thinking that I overwhelmed my home by bringing in too many new items in at once and how thrift store items have very different energies to new clothes which usually feel calm. Some thrift store clothes in contrast have a loud, toxic, aggressive vibe and they need to be redonated! It's good to know other people understand what I mean. I wish people would stop using toxic chemicals in their homes as it really affects people like me who are sensitive to chemicals (I think all humans are sensitive to chemicals but just not everyone realises, I'm like a canary in a coal mine).

    Some items are dry clean only for a reason. Thrifted leather and suede or other heavily ornamented items should be dry cleaned (follow the label). Given the environmentally harmful chemicals in traditional dry cleaning processes you can look for organic dry cleaners which are becoming more commonplace.

So I have cut back a little and when I am out of course it the mask, sometime goggles, hand sanitizer in the car. Don't want the gloves because I like feeling things.. I'm not into the new age "spirituality" ritual cleansing stuff. I'll just pray over the clothes and ask God to sanitize it in Jesus name. Then I just wash it with ammonia or diluted bleach if I can get away with it. Dry it and call it a day.
    I don't even acquire used clothes anymore. I had salvaged a bunch of new and gently used designer, Lululemon and Nike clothes and stuff from a couple women who moved out of my apartment building for free when I lived in NYC!
    I ended up not wearing the pants because they are for taller women. I still want to sell them though and get a few dollars for them since I didn't have to buy them.

      Amen! Thank you for sharing! If we are believers of Christ we have to be careful of divination & mysticism. (New Age/Withcraft)
      The Lord warns his children of adopting practices that are not of God. These practices do not glorify God at all.

    Hey love I'm coming to you as a Christian letting you know (by the way i don't want mean to come off arrogant). When your a Christ believer I'm not saying you have to be bias, because it's not welcoming; you can see that with the stiff neck Christian, but you have to stand you ground in the relationship aspect with GOD, and not encourage others to find their own false deity. I'm saying this with all love, as Christians we strive everyday to encourage the truth of the gospel, and shed the light of Christ on others in the dark. Hey we Christian aren't perfect, and we miss a few steps. (guilty:)That's why we have the LORD to rebuke, and guide us to truth.

      So true. If you believe in God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, then He is enough. No need for the mixture of pagan practices, Jesus' blood cleanses everything. God Bless you.❤

    Hey girl! Thanks for sharing fashionable tips. I wanted to touch on something you mentioned and invited us to comment on. Well I believe sage, no matter kind is a seasoning meant for food. I believe evil spirits attaching themselves to not only people, but all objects and that you should be mindful of taking it home. Prayer is great alongside washing the clothing, however it matters who your praying to in order to bind any evil spirits and I believe that it has to be in the name of Jesus the christ from Some that actually has a relationship with Him in order to have that authority to ward spirits off for good. So sage, incense, lower case g god, Crystals and oils will NOT help. If anything, it will become worst because it's a form of witchcraft. I hope this is helpful and you take heed to what you open /expose your mind to. Happy Shopping and know that God the father, loves you. John 3:16, Romans 10:9 🥰👍
