God I miss John Peel on the BBC. His introductions of certain bands helped alot of become more recognizable and especially in Britain. So many legendary Sessions from obscure and World famous Rock N Roll bands. RIP JOHN PEEL.

One of the Pixies' most popular songs, “Hey” is referred to by Black Francis as the bands' “Only R&B song”
People love this song. It’s like our only R&B song with this three-chord turnaround. Basically it’s our slow-jam R&B song or our version of that I guess. I don’t think we were trying to do that. It just sort of came out naturally. I suppose it’s a relationship song. It’s not really my own history but distilled or culled from ancient stories of my parents from when they were younger. Things I heard or rumors, loosely based on that kinda stuff.
