Fun fact I learned from talking to a major SP enthusiast: The GS-4's pressure threshold was apparently too high for the SP's 6-Chime whistles most of the time - hence why the SP typically preferred using Hancock 3-Chimes on them instead. It's also why the one 4449 had for a while sounds like it's so strained in a lot of footage.
@@Farside2020 Imma not sure if thats completely correct. Yes, 4449 had a Hancock 3 chime, but it was actually from an NP challenger. SP did put their 6 chimes on their northerns, heck 4449 wore hears untils the 80s, theres some footage out their. Im pretty sure the cab aheads had modified SP 6 chimes, because of the high pressure.
