please ensure the tires are as wide. because 20 or 22-inch wheels are not the point. Toyota Lacks wide tires in their lineup. at least give us the consumer. a choice to upgrade to wider tires. imagine that on a Camry and Rav4, it will change how Toyota looks. wide tires do change how the overall Vehicle looks@@toyotausa

Well it’s a prototype, but if demand is high enough, they will bring it. A million people may want it, but only 1 percent will afford it and actually buy it.

Theres a retired Martin Lockheed engineer who attends scottsdale cars and coffee, has a newer tacoma, with a 5.0L v8 from the GSF swapped in, custom made his own carbon fiber fenders, bumper, hood, etc. This reminded me of that! Very cool guys! Ill swing by in a little and check you guys out here at SEMA in a bit!

I just saw one in the parking lot driven by older gentleman today, and was reminded how cool the X-Runner was, too. And there's nothing like this now. I was too young the first time around as well...
I had a speedway blue 2005 xrunner. Loved that truck and had it for 5 years before trading it in. Can’t believe how long ago that was already.

As an owner of a 08 supercharged X-Runner, I am happy to see this concept come into reality. The Facebook X-Runner group is going nuts over this and would love to see a full production model. Toyota, please make this happen and I will buy one and have an option as a 6 speed manual like the original.
manual supercharged is where it was at! I had an '05 in red.
Hopeully you guys wont mind a lot of people asking for a 4door as well.. just makes it more practical and compatible with folks with family's and different lifestyles..
My dad loves the new look of the Tacoma x-runner. He always loved the old ones, but he thinks the new one would sell very well!
I’m impressed that you have thought ahead with the Tnga-f platform for interchangeability in the lineup. We can modify our vehicles with Toyota parts from other trucks. Excellent work Toyota!
Thats what im looking forward to the most.. I almost got rid of my Tacoma for the ranger raptor.. Fortunately, I seen that 24 Tacoma but was still disappointed with the powertrain.. yes its more power but the v6 is what people want.. Now that we see it possible to swap even more parts makes it even better.

This is everything I dreamt my '05 and '11 XRunner would be. I'll take one with a sunroof and a manual transmission in Magnetic Gray!
My Uncle was an immigrant from S. Korea and didn’t have much to his name. Around 1979 or 1980, Toyota gave him a chance. He was able to get a job working for Toyota spraying undercoatings and later worked as a stevedore. He was able to provide for his family, put his kids through college, working for around 40 years with Toyota and of course, converting all of his relatives to loyal Toyota customers over the decades. My Tacoma was smashed by a careless driver a few months ago. My Tacoma was supercharged and essentially my 4wd version of the X-Runner (actually S-Runner) with many good memories. If this truck comes to market, I plan on buying it.
My Uncle passed away a few years ago, but I still remember talking to him about various Toyota vehicles over the years. But one of my first questions to him I will always remember him answering (English wasn’t his strong point) since we had been domestic car buyers before.

I I would love this power train as an option for the tacoma in later production years. This X Runner is an absolute win for the Toyota team. Hopefully we see this truck, even for just a limited production run, hats off to you!
As an all Toyota family, I would love to see this in production. It MUST have a manual, stick transmission though for it to be a true sport truck. Let's go Toyota!

I wish and almost thought they did. The manual torque rating is too low for the torque this truck has. You'd need a hopped up 2.4T instead.

Build It!!!! i would be in line to buy one, even if the production version has a smaller engine like a naturally asperated V6. Still would buy it. Looks really awesome been waiting to see if you guys bring out a new street version. I'm just hopping for a reasonable price tag.

I think somebody at toyota finally snapped there crayons and realized they have a following unmatched by any other car manufacturer. Went back to the basics, drank some beer cooked some BBQ and let the tradesman get busy. Great looking truck, cant wait to see whats next.

Toyota you have created a insane X Runner and I salute you for creating such a insane sick ride. I know that Toyota is trying to go forward with hybridization i respect that from Toyota but putting in the Twin Turbo V6 Tundra engine with a tune is the best thing in a long time that I've seen. One thing just to say is that please Toyota could you please offer the TTV6 as a option to the whole Tacoma line and just watch the sales skyrocket through the roof. Trust me the Tacoma lovers would love it. ❤️

Street performance truce market has been neglected too long. If you can offer it at a reasonable price, or maybe varying trim levels, it should sell wildly.

I have had my 2006 Blue X-Runner for 3 years. About to hit 200,000 miles. The compliments I've received over the years is crazy. People love these! Toyota, please make these a reality! I'm tired of seeing Chevy and Ford copying the Tacoma style! If you want to make them scared.... just make these bad boys!

Hope something close to this makes it to production. A manual transmission would sweeten the deal. My current X-Runner needs to be replaced and I've held off ordering a new Tacoma the past couple of years because I'd have to get 4WD, which I have zero use for, and a short bed -- boo! -- all because I wanted a V6 and manual transmission.
Please Toyota put that truck into production!
