Most leaders in such soci*ty only tell you the obvious good part of joining always like protection, huge money etc but never tell you other business you might not be in support off and you will be involved if soci*ty already in such, its just like you married to your spouse and if your wife or husband is in a huge depth in which you never was there when money was spent but since you are married its both of your problem and if you have savings governm*nt could take your fund just to cover up your spouse cost.
