I moved from Texas to donaldsonville in 2008 @ 11 years old. Didn’t leave Louisiana until age 22. That’s my home, the family I made there I will never forget. Im crying typing this cuz I lost so many friends due to nonsense that goes on there now.
I remember when going to ascension catholic primary school back in the 80s there was a Mary or Jesus statue I can't remember, but I do remember it was missing a hand. They told us that statue was the only thing still standing in the spot where the school is today after the civil war battle in donaldsonville. The status lost a hand after it was hit with a canon ball. Anyone else heard this same story? I think they still had the canon ball also.
Good job
They are almost done renovating the old department store into apartments and are taking applications I hear
