Great video and explanation. I have the C1441 code now on my 2012 Highlander. There is not much info available out there regarding this code. Your video is one of the only things I could find. I am hoping this is what is causing my code, too. However, it is proving a bit difficult at the moment to find any used brake pedals that have this sensor on them. All the ones on ebay right now listed as for the 2nd Gen Highlander do not have the sensor on them. I have found some RX350 pedals which do have a similar sensor on them and look to be the same or very similar pedal. I am giving one a try and will report back. FWIW, similar years Camry also have a pedal with a sensor on it, but the pedal configuration is different and the sensor seems to have a different connector. Also, I am a guy who will usually track down the OEM part and buy new for stuff like this. I have searched high and low on the parts diagrams and it appears that this sensor is not available separately from the brake pedal assembly. Part number for brake pedal assembly for my 2012 Highlander is 47106-0E020 and currently costs just a touch over $200 USD.
Thanks for the video, but how do you test the part? how does it work? I don't want to replace it and hope it works. i also noticed that there are adjustments on that sensor.

My 2013 Highlander just threw this same error. Great video. Thanks for all the details.
@borgdrone47 - did you find a replacement? if so, can you share where you got it?
