I had the same problem with mine and tried everything to solve the problem and nothing worked. I finally got it to work by pressurizing the large diameter intake tube with water using my water pressure water and it finally worked and it's a great machine. You need to create a good seal when you connect your pressure washer hose with the intake tube.

    SOLUTION / FIX:
I taped a mains water hose to the intake pipe. I opened the tap to full and ran the machine three times, two in prime and one in spray (low pressure). I had a big pop sound and suddenly water was coming through the main hose outlet (I hadn't connected my gun hose), then water and paint residue from the prime dump pipe.
I have had the bottom ball valve out, dismantled the prime/spray valve with no result. My new purchase stuck in the same situation as this video for days! I hope my fix helps others, and saves an expensive service fee.
NOTE: I have a strong suspicion these machines don't clean very well or easily thus them being discontinued / updated to QT190. I'll be cleaning the living daylights out of this machine each time I use it, using hot (not piping) water.

The priming lever has two positions vertical and horizontal, it spins clockwise and anticlockwise but that has no effect on the machine.

    Hello Matthew,
I'm having the exact same trouble with mine. Can you please tell me how you got the problem resolved? Was it replaced or was there a simple fix? Thank you.

Ok I have this same model albeit being 3 years old. Just sprayed a large 4 bedroom house. I think the problem is you are turning the priming lever whereas you should be pulling it out and holding it then release it and the pump will run a short while and prime........which will now be difficult as it is broken off!!! You will also need to unbolt it remove it and clean as it will get clogged with paint over the course of time.
I don't believe they have changed the design of this so it's how you are using the priming lever where the fault lies.

I use this sprayer regularly and have vast experience with it. 1 of 3 issues here. Firstly could be an air lock, try filling the pickup tube with fluid and turn on the pump then submerge the the pick up in the bucket.
Secondly could be debris in the system that is stopping the ball bearing from seating properly, you'll need to disassemble the bottom joint and check for debris in there. I've previously found bits of rubber from the inside of the pick up tube degrading.
Thirdly, the packings could be worn, check for any liquids escaping from the piston at the front of the pump. There is also a packings nut that can be tightened. Use a bar in one of the holes to see whether the packing nut is loose.
      Hope you get it sorted.

Just bought one of these used. Exactly the same problem! I've taken off the bottom feed pipe and checked the ball bearing valve - moves freely with no residue. I've even removed the primer valve switch and that's clean and the valve ok. I'll be hooking up a garden hose to the feed pipe next to see what happens.
Any news from anyone else would really help!

replace the ball socket at the bottom block the ball hit the bottom body to release the ball to maximum pressure with 10 times and open the bypass valve and close
