- In this episode I highlight the WW2 era Pexto Foot Squaring Shear Model 132G that Ive had the pleasure of stewarding for the las 18 years. It still functions great for a nearly 80 year old machine.

Great video, just picked one of these puppies up in excellent shape for $200 and now am even more excited to get it into the shop. I bought it primarily for a single job requiring 2 13” cuts on some 16ga 304SS (I hope never to have to push it so hard again) and also because as you cited it’s just such a cool old cool tool!!
I haven't seen a machine like that for 20+ years. Keep it going.
My dad has one that looks a lot like yours.. Except his is 8' long.. He did plumbing and heating.. Made the ducting from flat sheets. Beautiful old machines..
Good video, I enjoyed it. Thanks..... David in Florida
That sure is a great ole tool Rick .. ENJOYED !!
Hey Rick! It has always amazed me how things were invented, made, and, mass produced in earlier years! Take for example the Hoover Dam...OMG!...how the hell did they ever accomplish that feat back in the day? Blows my mind that they DID it! Thanks, again, Rick, for the Pexto demonstration and the history of it! As always, great video!

I see these in the 1200.00+ range now. I just traded for one that needs restoration. Will likely do a series on my channel
Not sure about that shear but I think each blade has 4 cutting edges by flipping blades.
Picked up one at the local tip shop here in northern NSW Aust a while back , looks the same but is the 1900 model & it's cast iron tread lever is broke which like you said is better to be replaced by something a bit more sturdy . . it was a cool find & plan to use it to cut SS sheet metal bodies for cigar box style guitars
Nice I just acquired a 1922 pexto slip roller
Lucky man. We bought a new T___s___h 36". Junk. Couldn't even be assembled due to so many pieces being machined wrong. I worked with their support group for weeks trying to get it right. We wanted our money back. They finally consented to replace it, so we shipped it , and they replaced it with another machine that still required considerable work to do the most trivial, low accuracy work. I finally concluded that the expertise to make these things right has disappeared.
Hey bud. Happens to be I am down In your area. Actually just drove thru town. Ya not much there your right. Being from Seattle area this is a different experience for sure.
And keep your toes out, 😳🤔🤔🤔, from under the stomp thingy, it hurts if one foot stomps on the other whilest stomping, I’ve done it🙄🥴
I just got my hands on pretty much the exact same shear. I've been trying to find information on how to maintain it.. It's in OK condition, but needs some love. Do you have any links to manuals or videos online where I could get more detailed maintenance information? I think it needs an overhaul similar to what you said you gave it a few years ago. Thank you!!
Although this is for a different model, they're very similar in design so the maintenance and adjustment principals should be about the same....close enough for checkers I suppose. If you take yours apart (like I did) get some help because the bed alone is close to 200lbs...very heavy cast iron. Hope this helps. www.trick-tools.com/common/documentation/152m.pdf
