Thank you very much for making this video, you saved us from throwing in the towel 😁😂, now everything is fine, thanks again!
You are welcome. That's what I make these for. 😁

Breakers is market AH means Air Handler. AC is airconditioning for outside unit.
Okay the house Im renting has this thermostat and I think its under my landlords account. I want to be able to add it to my Google Home app so I can control it remotely but can I even do that because its his not mine??
Correct. He would need to share the device with you and you could control it under your own google Home. Or he factory resets it and you can set it up from scratch.
Why didn’t you show what wires? That’s the ducking help I needed
It should be pretty standard.
Blue - comum
White- heat
Yellow - cool
Red - power
Green - fan
I have orange black and brown also
You got a heat pump?
Hello and thanks for the video one question why do you have your blue going into Y do you not have a yellow wire. Just asking bc im actually installing my now just wondering is that's why minds not working
My nest e doesn’t work so I got a nest 2020 and it worked(problem I think is nest e has tiny pins and one of them looked broken because I bought refurbished, so I bought a new nest 2020 and it worked well and also the pins are thicker so no more messed up pins
You literally skipped the only part I needed at 5:22. “Which of these wires do you have “ part
Don't base it upon his wires. Everyone could have a different set of wires. Just match yours to the new device. It will also walk you through it on the Google home app
Replaced to google nest. Issue is that fan doesn’t turn on with heat automatically. I set the fan to auto .
Always have to run fan manually or set in a schedule to turn the fan on. Any ways to get dan turn on with heat?
Now would u just use the google home app again if you have dual zone? Installing two nests in the house
Yes, it is all setup in the Google Home app now a days.
How to open it to change the battery
Hi, I have a question. I saw the batteries, that is good. But how do I get wires from the source the thermostat, those colored wires, where do they come from?
They should already be in your wall.
How to install for my old style only have two wire? Thank you
I am not sure if this thermostat would work with your system or not. You may want to look at the more expensive nest learning thermostat. You can go on Nests website and put in your wire colors to see what will and will not work.
Hola! Lleva algo conectado a la caldera? Tengo caldera comunitaria y no sé si lo puedo instalar en casa. Gracias.
Lamentablemente no lo hago. No estoy seguro de esto.
Can i do all of this without the goggle Account??????????Any Answer us greatly apprecciated.......tnks in Advance
Yes, You must use the Google Home App to setup the device and that will force you to login to a google account. You could always make a random Google account just for the Google Home App setup. Once the thermostat is setup, you can control it like a normal thermostat and would not need the account or app anymore.
Hello! I'd like to ask you a question. Will the screen of the nest thermostat light up if it only has batteries?
I have never tested this, but I think so. My understanding is it has a sensor and whenever you walk in front of it (as long as it has power via the wall or batteries) it will light up so you can use it.
It's set on cool and blowing hot air
Hi , No need to use C wire (use only battery) ?
Sadly I am not sure. I thought the c wire was needed regardless.
@@BigCVlogs I believe if No C wire, battery willl be changed frequently...
Muchas Gracias maestro!
I cannot get the thermostat to connect to Wi-Fi and add to my home app. The only way I got it to add was create a new home in my app and then add it. Please help. I don't like this because I can't voice control it.
I'd say get it up to date under the current home. Then delete it and try to add it in your regular home.
@@BigCVlogs tried that but didn't work.
You don’t need yhe C wire?
Great info thanks for the hell it was confusing I appreciate it.
So I have a boiler and a/c both have separate control voltage sent to the existing thermostat...so I have r and rc connections in the old thermostat,no jumper, the nest only has r ....is there a way to still use the nest I have or am I gonna have to go another route with a different thermostat
Yes!! Just make sure you connect the nest the same way! You have your old thermostat!
Does this Thermastat have a adjustable Differential in Temp? Say I set it for 70 degrees, and it heats up to 70 degrees, and I can adjust it to come back on if it drops to like 68 or 67 degrees. I dont want one that is +1- degree differential. need at least 2 or 3 degrees Difference.. If only 1 degree Differential. It will go off and come back on in just a few mins. runs too much at 1 degree. Thanks
Yeah, in the settings you can set it to cut on and off at certain temps it you can't directly control the differential. If it was 70 in your house and you set it to 67, it would not cut on again till the thermostat got to 67.
@@BigCVlogs Thats Good ! Thank you very much..
Hopefully this new Nest Ther. is a good one......i'm going on my 3rd Nest Ther. of the Nest Ther. 3 Gen. The first 2 Thermostats had MAJOR PROBLEMS with the Wi-Fi Chip that is in them, talk about a pain inn the you know what !!! 😲....... 👍 video
Please help! My old thermostat is a honeywell. Not smart or wifi. But I am confused if I need the metal plate bc of the electrical box. Not sure what that is or if mine has an electrical box.
Thanks a lot!
You are welcome. Glad I could help. 😁
Anyone know why my Google home app won’t even detect the presence of the device to add it? Wont let me even get to the scan QR code screen. I’m struggling over here. Cant register / set up through nest app either.
I haven't heard of this issue. I would suggest reinstalling you app or if you have a different tablet or phone, install the Google Home app on that device and try it.
@@BigCVlogs I have tried a different tablet. I have taken the batteries out of the nest thermostat to reset it, I have reinstalled the app many times. I’ve checked my wifi , I’ve checked my Bluetooth. This device will not connect and nowhere I can find a solution. And Google itself is the worst at providing a solution.
Same issue here!! Still working on it!!!
@@kadiestarr9770 were you able to find a solution?
@@kyleluchia5862 try selecting RESET on the actual device and then reinstall the app and take the batteries out. Give it a complete reset and start from scratch
Say Yes....also your gf is cute
I have a wire labeled Rh where does that go into the Nest?
Sadly I am not sure. I know on Nest's website they have a configuration page that tells you what cable goes where.
LOL the breaker you turned off is not killing power to the thermostat that you don’t have a common anyway the breaker labeled AC is for the outdoor unit hallway which does not powered the thermostat
Interesting. In this house and the one I just moved into, turning off the breaker labeled AC turns off the thermostat as well. Never been shocked when setting one and I switch them from time to time for other Thermostat videos.
Great video. Thanks
Here is a question, why doesnt NEST have control over HRV? These are mandatory on all newer homes over the past decade. Its one of the reasons why i cant use nest thermostat. Also, why must the system mode be on 'heat or cool' in order to just turn on the fan?
I have nest e and you can set the fan to run for however long you want without the ac or heat running. I'm sure it's like that with all of these. I just bought 2 of the newest nest thermostats for a building of mine so I still need to check out that google app. But ob the nest app you can.
Whats HRV?

Heat Recovery Ventilation
is the heater working?
Yes it is. So far, I've had zero issues with this thermostat.
I have an old house with oil heater and radiators.... no cooling or ac.. will this work with a heat only?
Hey, love your video- question: How to adjust fan speed
Just go to that option and select it and you should be able to touch the side of the device to be able to adjust it.
You would actually need to go into the air handler and switch the wires. its not a switch or a setting, its actually hard wiring the fan to a higher speed.
How do you Lock it? Can’t find the Lock in app nor device
Why do you need the labels if the wires are colored?
What wires in 2 wire connect to 6 connector
I just unboxed mine and when I pulled the battery tabs the display didn't pop up. Once installed I do hear the menu and icons scrolling but just no display. Anyone encounter this and have a fix?
Off topic, but can we see your Beagle? Beagles are the best!!!
Aww sure. His name is Zeppelin. 😁 He appears from time to time.
You didn’t have to use a C-Wire ?
No, my system doesn't have that wire. I think it depends on when your ac system was made, but I'm not 100% sure. I know the $250 "Nest Learning Thermostat" is compatible with more hvac units than this one is.
gracias man
I still can't get mine to let me login to finish with Google app
What’s color is your wall? What shade of gray?
I only have a black and a white wire, will it still work?
Sadly I am not sure. I believe Google has a wiring diagram on their website showing which ones it will and will not work with.
I know the more expensive Nest Thermostat works with a lot more systems but it is sadly $250.
Thermostat wires should be low voltage if up to code
Great video, but why would you replace the Nest Learning Thermostat with the new Nest Thermostat 2020? Seems like a downgrade!
Honestly....just to make this video lol I switched it back to the learning thermostat and will use this one if I move and need one for my 2nd floor or basement.
After watching how you can change your daily schedule right on the Nest E, this Nest Thermostat IS a downgrade.
I am also having problems with losing connection to the home app and having to repeat a factory reset. Throw it out
I don’t see that thermostat on my nest app.
This one only works with the Google Home app I do believe.
No common wire needed?
Not with my setup, the wiring depends on the house from my understanding.
She looks like micheal cera
Why does it need a C-Wire when it clearly has rechargeable batteries? Just remove the batteries and charge and replace. Better yet it should just have a battery pack installed. I ordered the Nest Learning for more than twice the cost to get around the C-Wire fiasco.
I just left mine of and didnt select a c wire in the installation start up.
Im a computer nerd
and I FUCKING HATE this thing... I miss my buttons...
You forgot the mounting plate!!
Yeah sadly I didn't buy the mounting plate. It's an extra $20 or so and the one from the Nest Thermostat e doesn't fit the 2020 version sadly.
Fan should be ran with heat
I bought a 2020 model and it's impossible to control the temperature, every roomate wants different temperatures ALL the FRICKING time... they walk into it and change it from 68 to heat it up to 72 in the middle of the night, some burn in their room while others just get cozy, ALL I wanted was to set 69F from 9pm to 8am. But there's no PIN lock option, so be aware...
Wrong breaker
69. Nice!!
🤣😂
It's crooked AF
Google make terrible terrible terrible user experience apps. The nest app can complete the heck of the setup and needs google home to finish, and that thing never finds the thermostat on wifi. The product really sucks. I installed first time, and after hours trying to make the wifi work it worked out of nowhere. Now I changed the wireless password and the nightmare happened again. 2 hours trying to just change the wifi and nothing yet. I don’t understand why not put nfc pairing on those things or wifi sharing password via google account. It’s really dumb. Hate to say that apple do it right with this, any apple device can validade another device wifi login in a beat.
Yeah I wish they did that as well. Apple does have it down pat.
How the F*5& did this thing connect right away to your wifi. I have tired 5g 2g reset, power cycle, dancing in the rain. POS if you ask me.
No help you should the part a child cold do
