I would like to note that Pontus as prestented in the lyrics is not necessarily the geographic region. I don't really know the context of the song, but pontus/pontos as a word in Greek basically means *a* sea (as opposed to *the* sea which would normally be thalassa), so I would wager that's what the lyrics mean.
