We enter a town called Castril (previously called Castril de la Peña) belonging to the province of Granada located in the south-western part of the Huéscar region.
In this First part we show you the route of the Route of the Gateway of the Cerrada where we will see throughout the tour the Castril River.
The route starts from the center of the town to the old 1918 power station, embedded in the rock of a mountain. From here, the place is a beauty and the feeling of contact with the river and nature is very stimulating. The road is formed by a walkway over old railroad embedded in the rock wall. Certain precautions should be taken with children to avoid falls or accidents.
On the route you will find a suspension bridge preferred attraction for walkers and children, an old mill that still retains the machinery and today a restaurant.
The last section of the route is the only one that will cost you a little more due to its difficulty as it is a gentle ascent that the walker can overcome in about twenty minutes.
