- It seems he can do anything on a skateboard at any time, but this really spotlights Chris' ledge-work madness. Plus it wouldn't be a Cole part without a bunch of NBDs. Nyjah Huston introduces a classic from the 2008 Fallen video.

@@JuanCarlos-qz9jt Don't quote me on it but I remember Jamie saying something a few years ago along the lines of they were struggling to get enough sales with all of the big shoebrands jumping on the skating bandwagon such as Nike Addidas and stuff and they had a few unfortunate events that led to it stopping. I think they had a whole factory of Shoes for a whole season somehow get mouldy. Can't remember if it was a flood or something. Anyway stoked its back!

The first trick, a freaking backside 180 nose grind switch big spin heelflip would be an ender of enders for 99 percent of professional skateboarders, the pros mind you, but it’s the first trick for Chris. 🔨 🔨 🔨

I always found it weird they say 180 nose grind. I feel it's more natural to say 180 switch 5-0 switch big heel out.

@@bon12121 problem with that is the direction you're traveling relative to your stance lol. A switch 5-0 is different than a nose grind in that while your feet are in the same position, in the nose grind you're going towards the opposite direction
Chris Cole is easily my all-time favorite skater when it comes to style. Everything he does is so smooth and effortless. When he floats through the air he looks like a majestic punk rock swan. Plus, when I was a kid he wasn't exactly young, so that fact that he still has it like that is amazing. Props.

Never does a trick twice... Never goes a trey flip in a line... Who else's consistency is that dialed in with bag of tricks that you never have to dip in twice. Greatest (6 minute) part of all time 🙌🏻

I was reading an interview of his from 2009 and he said this was his favorite part, and that's like one of the golden eras of skateboarding, so I knew this had to be epic still today.

I couldn't afford to pay for the Ride the Sky while I was in my skateboard career. Now, I am retired. I just want to say this Chris Cole's part is real proper. Wow. I met him and his skate teams during few demos, events, signings. I was always a fan of his since I first knew about the man. Cheers. Keep being awesome. Best wishes.

I'm 23 this video came out my freshman year of high school I have to say this part is one of the best ever made. Watched it literally every day before skating. Chris Coles a pioneer

Video came out when I was 16.. time flies. Moved on from skating, but love coming back to these from time to time. This era, to me, was the best. Had a lot of tech, but not TOO too technical if that makes sense
I havnt skated in yrs , but it was literally my life.
But im still watching skate videos to this day, ( thanks to youtube) i will bet any amount of money, tht you will never stop watching skate videos.
Same as when your out working, or doing errands and you will notice a perfect skate spot. It never leaves your brain.

In many ways this could be the best part of all time. Tech gnar style. The day I opened the mag to see the sequence of the backside nose grind Nollie big heel or whatever, bolts too. Trying to understand the trick even had me questioning if it was photo shopped some how.

I felt old when new blood was a classic, this is making me feel even older. One of the best parts of all time easily. Still have the full length dvd in my drawer.

I'd say that Chris Cole's "Ride the Sky" is comparable to Ryenold's "Say Gold" parts. Both Cole and Reynolds were just absolutely going for broke in both of those.
Really just blows my damn mind how crazy the tricks in this are... Like how it's even possible. Especially when you think how much of this is nollie/switch.

The fuck? The part is danzig/judas priest. The songs are Soul on fire followed by the live version of diamonds and rust. There are no misfits here, get your ears and rock history checked.
InFearWeHide24 Danzig was the singer of the misfits, so I'm sure that's what he meant. Most people generally lump the 2 together, along with Samhain.

I have a hard time believing that Nyjah or anyone else could back noseblunt hollywood high, but as they say, seeing or in your case, hearing him say that he enjoys the music is believing I suppose...

He always stood out to me for being one of the main guys during the 2000s who was able to do big rails, gaps and tech stuff while having good style and trick selection.
Another thing is that I don't think Chris was naturally great at skating. If you watch his early parts you'll see that he's really come a long way from so many years of dedication and that's something I respect.
To me, this is his greatest part. The whole damn thing is done properly.

Everything from the ridiculous skating, to the pink wheels and colourful trucks pull aesthetic, and then the all black clothes and song choice. I'm now 26 and feeling like a kid again. Love it.
