This is a niche Drum\Synth. Its unique in its live friendly interface. Its very expensive if we do a feature comparison to other drum machines like Electron. Certainly not some essential item to make great music. However its hands on feel, sound, and ease of use (just turn it on and go) makes my heart happy, and promotes more music creation for me. I wish i could just be happy with cheap VSTs :)
@@Noise-Maker I have a lot of hardware but I can't see the appeal of this machine at this price point. My Acidlab Drumatix is hands on too and very easy to use for 3 times less and in my case 5. Even my mint MPC60 MKII was half the cost of this synth...So I'm asking again. What do you get for this high price and is it worth it ?
@@nicoscorner2592Hi Nico, I think you hit the nail on the head. If your not feeling the appeal of this machine its not worth the price at 2k maybe not even 1k for you. Things that appeal to me for my money = The look, Size, Feel, ease of features, Sends\Send Knobs, the easy sound shaping. Its the total sum of those features that is the Perkons HD-01. Its why i reach for it first over my MPC and Analog Rytm. It motivates me to write music. This is worth the price to me personally. And happy they made this machine. Also, I have a video with an in depth review of my personal thoughts.
@@nicoscorner2592 You're comparing a 606 clone vs a unique drum machine with send/returns, fx, compressor, distortion... etc. It's apples to oranges. Also, an MPC60 is a sampler, sequencer, etc. Not even in the same realm as this. What do you get for the high price? Many things, including vibe, build quality, and immediacy. However, If you cannot see the appeal of it, then it is not for you mate. If you need more info, I suggest searching youtube for Loopop's review as he walks through the entire unit :)
