Duck Yaeah, Colonel Commissar İbram Gaunt and his Tabitha first and only Ghosts are a series to behold and listen to especially on audible due to the expert life bringing narration of Toby Longworth and expert masterful writing if Dan Abnett, highly recommend, almost finished with the series still wanna serve in the front lines of the imperium with these guys for feths sake.
Those guardsman following up with rattling that demon 'corpse' were about the smartest guardsman i've seen in awhile
If GW did this type of thing with it's black library material and general lore on its CZcams channel it would gain so many more customer's. This would be so easy to do,and it would be like printing their own money. 💰 💰 💰
Small stories like this and lore videos are how you get people into the property.
And now I want a fully animated Gaunts Ghosts series in a more complete version of this style, please and thank you...

That would take quote a lot of time and money to do, i mean it os managable but god damn is it a massove amount of work.

@@FQP-7024 It is not that simple I'm afraid. GW is a company that was founded in the UK and is very culturally British, and so unsurprisingly is domiciled in the UK, being based in Nottingham, and as a result is subject to UK intellectual property (IP) laws, and one of the provisions of those laws is that if an IP holder does not regularly exert and preserve their right to their IP - which includes making sure that no one else is profiting from their IP without their objection - then that IP can be declared public domain, at which point they no longer own the IP, anyone can use it, and the original owner can no longer even claim royalties from that use. Before GW took action, many fan animators were soliciting money from supporters over systems like Patreon in order to keep making their fan animations - apparently at one point the guy making Astartes was raking in somewhere in the region of $30,000 a month by that means - which definitely counts as profiting from GW's IP without the legal right to do so. If GW had not acted, their entire business model could have collapsed due to UK IP laws, and those laws have still not changed. While those laws stay the same, GW can't afford to take the risk that their IP - the most valuable thing they own - might be effectively taken from them if they don't act harshly against fan creators.
I know it is trendy to bash GW, but they really are in a cleft stick not of their making on this one. If people want things to change, they should really be campaigning for the reform of UK IP laws, not demonising a company that has little option other than to act in the way it has in order to maintain its financial viability.
i love the fact that the demon still has his guardsman dogtag around his neck that simple detail give the creature a little something that makes it even more scary, it was once human and those dogtag are the only thing that prove it once was human.
You know, people joke about Guardsmen getting killed by Grey Knights wherever they appear.
But seeing this, and remembering that Grey Knights are only deployed where the worst Daemonic or Chaos corruption occurs, I think I understand why now.
It's an actual mercy, come to think of it. For the poor unfortunate soul that must've been eaten alive and made to turn on his fellow man. Worse for that soul's former allies who now have to live with the fact anyone of them could turn against the other.
Grimdark indeed.
the scary part is that all that guardsman did was touch a sharp metal idol they found in some random corner of the trench - that is how insidious Chaos is.

One of my most favorite stories told in the 40k universe. Hoping that Henry is developing this. Even if it's not the first project, it should get some time on screen at some point.

I prefer this format of pairing black library audiobooks with sketch style animation to the animation used in hammer and bolter, especially the Hellsreach one 👌🏻

One of my favorite moments from the book. I read it when I was a young teenager (about 13) and got the book into my hands again when I was about 23. The first thing I remembered was that scene and I had to find it in the book and read it again.
The Gaunt's Ghosts series is a great series of books.

I remember listening to the audiobook! That moment was too surreal, the gaunts ghosts had epic moments!
I heared the audiobooks 3 or 4 times now. Our german Voiceactor (Jean Paul Baeck) did make a great Job too.
I'd pay good money to see the whole audiobook given this treatment. Hell, I'd pay even more to see a full animation

Gaunts Ghosts is such a great series. I still haven’t fully finished it (only the first 6 books so far), but the characters are amazing.
Man, I would kill for a Gaunt's Ghost movie. Can you imagine so many of the series' great essences in movie format or animation? Fuck it I would even take a show if it was well-animated and followed the books.

Just started the Gaunt's Ghosts novels a few days ago! Already on Book Two and just finished Book One earlier today! Love the animation visualizing this scene from the book! Can't wait for more from the artist!

This part actually scared me a bit due to how he got infected. A bit of shrapnel after they shot a chaos icon and a fragment got embedded in this poor guy due to be unlucky. They even removed it too. But nope that's enough to be demon.
Also I get bit sad every time I hear a Tanith guardsman die even the unnamed ones. "For every one that falls another ten will take their place." But these guys don't have that option. At the very least it won't be actual Tanith replacements. Once the last Tanith born guardsman dies, that's it.
I just finished rereading the first gaunts ghosts book last week and there is so much stuff coming out for it. Creepy

This was great. The ghosts rule because even when they break they’re quick to rally with a laz salvo.

The answer when a body starts to do that is aim your las-rifle at it and keep giving it the Emperor's Wrath until it stops moving. The whole unit needs to do it, though. Yeah, it is some freaky, oh crap stuff going on, but you are a soldier and you have only two things you can do: die and fight. Doing nothing guarantees death and there is no way you are outrunning something that folds out from a body that just took a shot to the chest, so you shoot it until it learns what a laser show is.
Isnt it like Imperial protocol to immediately light up someone who's being possessed or overtake by a daemon.
@soundcloudpandapandawa2997 Outside of specific factions, that level of knowledge is not common, so no. The average guardsmen aren't going to have any idea what was happening there. Their office or Commisar should have defaulted to Imperial tactics of "we don't know what it is, but isn't isn't human, so shoot it till it dies". I didn't see anything but enlisted in the video, so what went down is pretty much to be expected out of average troops. Not every guardsmen is like those from Catachan that would have pulled out machetes or Death Corps of Krieg that would have just started firing their lasrifles as soon as things got weird and not have even given it a second thought.
