The Uttar Pradesh government offers several subsidies for export, irrigation, equipment, finance, and fertiliser. About 2% of India's GDP comprises agricultural subsidies, which account for about 21% of farmers' overall farm income.
Uttar Pradesh government launched this program in 2022 to benefit the state's farmers. The government will provide farmers with up to 80% in agricultural machinery subsidies as part of this free agricultural machinery subsidy programme. The state's poor farmers who cannot purchase agricultural machinery will profit most from this programme.
