Authentic karate include throws and grappling though
You know, mainland japan cut away alot of original karate strikes, throw, elbow strike, knee strike, back palm etc. Especially throw, they made rule karate shouldn't grappling and throw with 2 hands, because its already exist in jiujitsu. So every karateka in competition only permited to throw with 1 hand 😑

A postura do Willian é de karate mesmo, já o adversário tem uma guarda de boxe, fora o golpe de judô q ele aplicou.
@@wilkernogueira1913 O William só não tá acostumado com luta de contato total, nessas lutas normalmente a guarda é mais alta, socos curvados são usados como o Mawashi tsuki, ele também precisa estudar mais projeções.

Karate Combat is just the brand name lol... like UFC. UFC didn't invent MMA...
If you really wanna go into what 'MMA' means then just go search on Bruce Lee and the Gracies. One understoof fairly early that for a fighter to be complete, he need to know what to do both when standing, when throwing and being thrown, and on the ground. That should've been base of Jeet-Kun Do, without mentioning my personal opinion about it... second major point in time was obviously the Gracie family who took the japanese Jiu Jitsu and turned it into an 80% grappling system and what we know these days as BJJ, or 'Gracie' JJ.
it's basically everyone who combines more than one method into his fighting. If you do karate and wrestling, you're doing MMA. Muay Thai and Tai-Ji, you're doing MMA.. and so on. These days the term MMA is mostly used to describe someone who combines striking form with ground form, but technically a BJJ practitioner can combine Judo and he would also be doing 'MMA'....
Its not these are literally just point karate guys who are fighting eachother for real. Its not even mma rules, since most takedowns are illegal and there is very limited ground time with only punches allowed no submissions.

Only karate techniques are allowed. For the general public karate is just punches and kicks, but it has immobilizations, projections (which you see in other martial arts like judo, wrestling or Bjj, but karate has its own projection techniques) In addition to other techniques you don't see on the WKF.

It was a GOOD Fight, in the first round Nikos has had advantages with hooks. Willian's kept his hands down so get all punches. Both ( Ushiro Geri) back kicks were good. in the second round, Willians lost his breath.

generation that prefers sitting playing virtual boxing than those real life matches are the mainstream now. it is a good way to put led screens now you can go anywhere. and the main focus is still on the fighting of course. and hey , why those audiences look so fabulous ? are they celebrities in the town or a campaign to promote the new arena ? it's ok to me. just they look fabulous than other audiences i have noticed.
