- I think it is interesting to watch a GL that is set in a different universe where there is a kingdom. You can really tell they put in the budget for this series. So far the plot seems very interesting, the only problem with all IDF series is it being overly long. Even though this episode was fun and didn't have much of a low.

To answer your questions, It was 1950s-1960s. How they’re related is anil’s grandfather was pin’s great grandfather’s distant cousin so basically they’re aunt and niece by title and rank but very very distant by blood
I think this has potential to be the best thai gl yet. I'm glad they are spending more time setting up the characters and hope that will make us feel more once the drama starts. We'll have to wait and see I suppose. Thank you for reacting to it and giving it a chance.
Also to add a fact that comes from the novels and that seems a little essential to me to understand the series that is based on the loyal pin 1 and 2, the character of Princess Anil (Becky) from the beginning her character is in love with Khun Pin (Freen) and you are right that is not like the main plot and you do not have delusions indeed princess Anil is always flirting and in love hahaha💕
I know I am late to these reactions but I just wanted to say that in the series the conflict is more about status. Khun Pin and other characters will always struggle with unequal status between Anil and Pin
Just to add, their series, The Loyal Pin is sponsored by the Thai government, to promote Thai products and culture, as FreenBecky(AnilPin) are considered one of the Soft Power of Thailand. All throughout the series, we will see a lot of thai food and thai culture too like the upcoming Loy Krathong Festival shown at the end of the episode in the trailer.
On another note, regarding your comment about long episodes, the version uploaded in Idol Factory yt channel are the UNCUT version. There is a shorter and more concise and censored ver. which is shown on Thai TV (Channel 23), as well as Workpoint's Official CZcams page. However, Workpoint YT channel only live streams the episode during its timeslot and eventually privates the video so you cannot view it afterwards.
In my opinion, seeing both versions, the UNCUT is a lot better as we see more of Pin's affection and "hidden crush" towards Anin. They edited out quite a lot of the scenes showing Pin's pov from the CUT ver. and that can change the way people may see Pin in the first ep.

loved your reaction, don't worry i don't think the writer of The Loyal Pin is not as problematic as the writer of Gap, Marvellous Dream, Blank, etc. I have read the book1 and book2 of The Loyal Pin, and I can say the drama is acceptable specially during the time period (1950s-1960s) of the story and the fact that these characters are royalty. But won't spoil the story, both books are adapted in the series thus this series having 16 episodes. And all I can say is I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, so my expectation of the adaptation so far is being met. The portrayal of Becky as Princess Anin is on point, the role was made for her. As for Freen, as someone who has been following Freen and Becky since SCOY era, I know how opposite Lady Pin is to Freen's real personality, Lady Pin is so well mannered and soft spoken, while Freen is someone who is more extrovert and funny girl. So I was really pleased of how she delivers the role of Lady Pin, you won't see Freen and you will only see Lady Pin. Both really have developed so much in terms of acting, and the other cast as well are good. Production wise, you can definitely see the budget they had put in the series. And of course the soft power of making sure to introduce food/culture in the series. Looking forward on the next episodes and your reaction on those episodes.
Princess Pad, even in the original book, wasn't painted as a villain. And after watching the series premiere, I was convinced they wouldn't take that route. At first glance, Pad may appear harsh and quick to discipline Pin, but given the conservative setting of the 1950s, it's not surprising that she'd be strict, especially as royalty. Anil's adventurous spirit often led Pin into situations Pad deemed too risky. However, I believe Pad's actions are rooted in her deep affection for Pin. As the only family they have, Pad is simply overprotective, sometimes neglecting Pin's feelings in the process. Even in the first episode, Pin describes Pad as strict but loving. And it's evident that Pad doesn't enjoy punishing Pin, often relenting after Anil intercedes. As you delve deeper into Pad's backstory later on in the series (there's a teaser pic that hint this), you'll gain a better understanding of her motivations and the reasons behind her decisions.

Yes, Pin always describes her Aunt as loving in the book because she made her comfortable in the Bua Palace, provided everything for her including her higher education
I didn't read anything, but that was exactly what I thought of her, that she wasn't bad, just strict for the time period and for being from a royal family, I think I'm good at noticing things jeje

The author of The loyal pin novel is not the same in Gap and Blank
Another fact is Aunt Patt is Pin’s biological aunt. Aunt Patt is the sister of Pin’s father. Also, Pin is 1 year older than Anin.
