Very true but considering there used to be 60,000,000 of them and and now their population is just a small fraction that it is still sad.

Actually the park service has worked hard at keeping their numbers fairly constant by allowing a winter hunt each year when they leave the park. They have heavily overgrazed Lamar Valley so biologists still think there are too many of them.
