  • Thank you to Jaguar Land Rover Centurion for letting me use this car. It was quite a treat.

    Hi Hilton. Great to see you back and reviewing the Land Rover. They are well designed and quite handsome cars. Love the stone interior. They are very popular in Northern Ireland. I always switch off my spot/start function. It's not very good for the engine and related components, despite what manufacturers claim.

    The square on the door is for memory controlled seats.

      Hey Andy, congrats on your soon to be new purchase. After driving this Discovery, I know you will not regret getting a Range Rover. It's the pinnacle of luxury.

      Well done Andy. The XF deserves to be looked after. I still regret selling mine. I have some news though, I just bought a new XF and the video will be out on Friday ;-)

      @@carfanfan Excellent! A NEW one or new to you? If NEW, I'll be interested to know your thoughts. A friend here has an almost new one after having Jags for years, and he says the NEW ones have been 'economically engineered', and aren't as good as the older ones!

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Před 5 lety +1

      Mine is a 2016 model. So Used, but only has 19,000km's on the clock. That's super low mileage for a car three years old. It was a dealer demo and got me a deal I couldn't refuse. My video mostly talks about why I bought it because I wasn't a fan of it when I reviewed one in 2016. It's all about speccing the car to one's tastes and paying for it ofcourse. I still miss my old Jag because it felt like a Jag. The new one is drop-dead gorgeous and having some of the "luxury" fittings and furnishings, it feels like one. I'll be doing a review video on my own car next, so that's the one that will give the pros and cons of this new XF - sadly, I don't think we'll ever see it being replaced with a 3rd gen.

    Hello thank you for your video very helpful, as it 2022 do you think it is still worth buying? What is fuel consumption like , I'm in the market for one or evouque..thank you

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Před 2 lety +2

      I had the new Evoque as well and between the two I would choose Evoque. The Discovery is more suited for offroading if that's what your use case would be, but if not, the Evoque is way more civilized and looks better too. The tech is also ahead of the Disco.

      @@carfanfan thank you for your prompt response, do you perhaps have a dealership you can recommend for good second hand one?

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Před 2 lety +1

      @@GcinokuhleM Unfortunately not. But I'd recommend checking your car sale websites, we have autotrader, cars.co.za, Gumtree and surforcars. When you find one that has all the options you want and just the right spec, compare prices to others with similar spec to see what they go for. If you can't test drive the car, get the VIN number and call the dealership that serviced it last. Ask for the warranty history to check if it was a problem car from day. All manufacturers have cars like that. Everything on the car becomes problematic. If no warranty claims then you know the car you're buying won't give you any troubles.

      @@ceehleg5922 I had no issues with the battery and the shifter knob rose every time. Quality is better than Discoveries of old. It started first time every time and was light on diesel. The ride is typical Land Rover, smooth. Just make sure it has full agent service history and you should be good 😉

      Fortunately I didn't keep this one. But yes, Discovery has never been reliable. They become money pits, especially if younhave the air suspension. Evoque is a much better choice.
