"Ian Stuart", the author of the book on which the movie was based, was a pen name of Alistair McLean. He used this pseudonym a couple of times to prove his stories sold well without the benefit of his real name on the cover.
Also it enables the author to work outside of his contract & be a lot more productive. Stephen King & Dean Koontz had several titles written under pseudonyms - but those books sold much better when the pseudonyms were taken off & replaced with the authors' real names. It's a living..
The Satan Bug is a superb, timeless and underrated film.
This is one of my many favorite movies. I'd so much love to have the movie props that were used in it.
I miss those kinda trailer
