LYRICS
I’m like Stevie Ray Vaughn on the stage
High on music
Teeth grinding
Sweating under the lights
But then my boss comes and she's crushin' me with a 20 ton weight
Just like in Monty Python
Somebody left on the sink, it’s still running
My eyes are gonna overflow
I need happy hour on sad days
I need happy hour I can’t wait
I’m like Ponce de Leon Sailing on a ship for the new world
Checking out the birds and flowers
Let’s chill out on this island I’ve been, sucking on a lime and coconut.
I think I could stay here for the rest of my life
Please don’t ever make me go home
I need happy hour on sad days
It’s my happy hour I can’t wait
Maybe I'll meet a scientist In sweatpants and a hair tie
We’ll conversate about ghetto birds and midi keyboards
Then we’ll slow dance
Head on my shoulder
Swaying back and forth
and My friends look on and smile
Everything gonna be alright
It’s my happy hour on sad days
I need happy hour, I can’t wait
I need happy hour to save me
I need happy hour, I can’t wait - Hudba
This song will always have a place in my heart. I was listening to Pacific Daydream in the car on my way to the airport to meet a friend when I got the phone call telling me my father had lost his battle with cancer. I don't remember much about that drive but I do remember this song coming on and bringing a smile to my face. Thank you Weezer. Somehow, some way you had the song I needed at that very moment.
This not only sounds like Weezer-it sounds like a soul crushing anthem that reaches towards the eternity of hope.
For sure
I know this is not Weezer's classic sound, but, damn! It's pretty cool.
Alexis368 hi
Wanna
Yeah preach on
I was just thinking the same thing when this just popped up in my new music feed on Spotify. I normally hate their super poppy sounding stuff, but I kind of dig this.
Agreed. This is cocktail by the pool music.
Retweet
I like it. Pacific Daydream sounds like a great, chill beach album.
With a name like Pacific Daydream, that seems appropriate, doesn't it.
The chorus of these new tracks are just all so damn good.
Agree!!

Hey Weezer, do you like Fortnite or call of duty
@davethesquid1864 they definitely like fortnite. Weezer actually collaborated with fortnite!
Very chill album so far. Pretty happy instrumentals with really depressing meanings behind them. I really like the contrast it brings.
I like the laid back vibe of this song
Veymex me too
Veymex me three
x4
It's very chill
Veymex I thought your comment said “lack of vibe” at first and I almost upvoted your post.
The 90's purists will hate on this song, but I'm digging it. Keep doing your thing Weezer.
Negative, 90s kid here, I love this track
John Vu most 90d people hate on this because most of them can’t even write something like this 😂
Yeah I agree. I was probably about 13 when The Blue Album came out and was totally Blown Away by what weeds are brought to the table. After Pinkerton I stop listening to them until this album came out. If you like cool visual videos check out kimbro's 90s music.
90´s here, I love this song :D
Weezer can do whatever they want! They had my respect with the first album. I will always listen to them. I'm 45.
I'm a simple man. As long as Weezer still making new song, I will listen to it.
Ron Swanson?? is that u???
No
Al l bdkv. Do
@Danielle - Make me a meat sandwich, with meat, bread, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Then leave everything off but the meat.
Ride or die =w=
The fact that this song opens with a Stevie Ray Vaughan reference instantly make it good.
I think by far this is their best song. It's chill, down to earth vibe level. And I've been listening their songs since 97.
Was introduced to this song by a wonderful friend. We are beginning to talk less and less with each other and while it hurts, I listen to this song every day for the memories :)
My best friend died four months ago... I haven't been able to listen to a whole song till I heard this..... I know she would love it.
I'm sure shes still with you xx
I' ve always considered Weezer, just a decent band but if they are able to mutate into this new funk style, clearly shows how talented musicians they are...respect.
Real summer vibes from this album. It's just been released 5 months too late to have been the sound of my summer.
Pacific Daydream will be here next Friday, October 27th! Pre-order now fanlink.to/pacificdaydream + bundles & limited vinyl available on weezerwebstore.com/
Nice!
Great! I can't wait god!
weezer howyeah
guys this song is amazing!!! this is already my favorite so far !!
SQUEEEEEEEEEeeeee!!!! ONLY 3 MORE DAYS!!! WHOOHOOOOO!!!
So groovy, this is the chillest, rhythmic, Weezer album ever! This is awesome
Every season is groovy my lad, who cares? Good music is good music! :)
I'm so thankful there are thoughtful fans like you out here with me.
PD is *awesome* -- Mexican Fender, Beach Boys, Happy Hour, Weekend Woman, and QB Blitz are *all* among Weezer's best songs ever, in my opinion! A groove this hard and nicely, simply-layered has only been found for me recently on Tame Impala's 'Currents' and Daft Punk's 'R.A.M.'!
The formula worked my dude, very easy listening over here lol
At this point, Weezer have earned the right to do what they want musically. I'm on board with this new vibe but if you're not, don't worry, their next album won't be long.
Hits hard when you realize almost every day is one of your “sad days.” At least this song makes me feel a little better, even though it kind of mostly gives me this nostalgic, bittersweet, happy-and-sad-at-the-same-time feeling.
Why is almost all of your days "sad"? Lol
I used to take my laptop outside in the bright, summer sunlight and do my study courses while blaring this into my earbuds. Wow. Gives me warm fuzzy feeling
Absolutely chill, me and the kids love it.
This album is the best album to listen to when you're just chilling. I can't tell you how many times I've caught myself bobbing my head with these songs and humming them in class. I don't care about Jean Piaget's contribution to psychology, I care about learning the lyrics to this.
Rivers is a student of melody and harmony. From the Blue album until now. He also evolves and an appreciator of all music styles. And never hid that fact. This is a sign of a true artist. From heavy metal influences to flat out pop. It's all still there. Shine on.
I want to cry when I hear this song, like someone is desperately reaching for happiness. I'm sorry dude I hope you get happiness on sad days.
How many times does something have to "not sound like Weezer" for people to break their ideas of what they think Weezer have to sound like?
best comment i've seen
It's the whole point in loving wheezer. They can do so much with their sound and it still be great.
That's the main reason why I'm so in love with Weezer, they're so versatile and can make ANY genre of music work, whether it be classic rock, pop, punk pop, anything. They're so talented.
I think about weezer the same way i think about wu tang clan
Alex Diakovsky Sounds like Weezer to me
I love it. It's so feel good, funky with great summer vibes. What's not to like ?
It's different, but different is great. If you're not happy, go cry in your Blue album memories.
This song is an instant vacation in the middle of the workday.
I think this will be the most unique Weezer album yet!
One of the best to me so far, I personally like Raditude the most. I don't know though, this is a close second for me.
Really, you actually think so? Ive felt like ive heard these songs 20 times already and i listened twice. Its bland, they need more EXPERIEMENTATION
Dakota Schmehil ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH MATE
Literally didn't think Raditude was anyone's favorite Weezer album. Didn't even know that was possible.
If the rest of the songs are like this it will be unique, just not in a good way.
This is the best single of the album that we've heard so far.
Best song Weezer ever did, "SRV on stage high on music teeth grinding sweating under the lights"!!! Just watched a 1st time reaction of Stevie Ray doing Texas Flood @ the Mocambo, yup!! He got high on his music and then he was taken away. We need Happy Hours on such sad days like those days.
Just discovered this song the other day and am blown away! Didn't think Weezer sounded like this.
Literally Everyone: I love this song and album!
Comments: Guys stop hating its cool
This is good. I don't care what the haters say.
Casey Jones I'm pretty sure a "hater" is someone who "hates" on things without any actual criticisms, but people who dislike this song have all the reason to criticize it so I really wouldn't consider them "haters"
Ducc A hater would go into the comments and let people know they dislike it. Someone who just didn't like it would just leave. That's the difference.
it’s our happy hour!!!
Casey Jones ,I concur!
@@Givens43 accurate
❤❤❤feels like summer and happy hour are definitely my fav from Weezer
This inspires me... Guys still living and burning life in a good good way.
I love the vibe this album seems to have. Love this song!
This is my new favorite song. 😄😁
I love Weezer at their rockingest and their poppiest. I don't get what everyone is bitching about, this album is great.
Can’t stop listening to this song! Really what is weezer’s style? They’re all over the place for me and I just appreciate a good song. It’s smooth.
Always liked weezer. Good new feel good music... Yeah!!!
Pretty funky, this whole album feels like a bit of an experimental side project to me so far.
KnockoutWolf that's literally what this is im pretty sure
There is literally nothing experimental about this though... If this is experimental then Katy Perry is experimental.
it's an experiment for Weezer, because they don't usually make music like this, meaning they're experimenting writing in a different style...
KnockoutWolf not what experimental means you fucknut
That's not necessarily a bad thing
Weezer is that band that pulls you out of whatever funk you're in and places you back to your happy place!
If this song makes you wildly happy, and deeply sad at the same time. You're receiving it the way it was perceived 💕

Weezer is an amazing group, especially with the masterpiece Ok Human
Just heard this song on the radio and I had to shazam it. Could of fooled me that this was weezer. Love the vibe guys. Too bad the song is so short.
this song is multipurpose lol. I can listen to it while depressed or while just chilling and feeling good. this vibe is everything
Hate you Weezer for such catchy licks. Cannot get enough of this song.
Hearing this after all the remixes is just so relieving
This song makes myself want to party till the beautiful morning light
Walked into suncorp stadium to see foofighters and this song was playing. Immediately mesmerized..neva heard of weezer before..loved the rest of the songs. Will buy ur new album..cant stop listening to it.good job boys and Thanku..couldnt have come at a better time x x
I love the "Ibiza Chill Out Lounge" sound of it. Even the look and the feeling of it.
From the comments under this vid, I’m wondering one thing: What’s so wrong with a musician/band changing up their sound?
If it wasn’t for this I would’ve never considered listening to more Weezer, and I can’t be the only one lol
Let the artist enjoy their art, and let more people enjoy that art
I see two sides to the groups of people who have an issue with Weezer changing their sound. One side just wants the Blue Album and Pinkerton again every few years, which just wouldn't work, those albums are great, but if they were still releasing music like that today, it'd be horrible. Then the other side doesn't mind that Weezer are trying something new, but want it to be good because, subjectively, they haven't been impressed with the songs themselves. Weezer, and Rivers Cuomo especially, have always been experimental and interested in pushing boundaries in music and trying new things to see what stuck, I mean, Blue Album wasn't like a lot of other rock music at the time, Pinkerton was so out of left field that it took years for people to realize how great it is, Green Album was an attempt to get back to what made them popular and Maladroit was an experiment with more heavy metal driven sounds and riffs, which were only slightly present in the previous albums, and every album since then has been experimental in one way or another, for better or worse
It’s ok to criticize
Experimentation is only good when it's executed well. I personally like the direction they took here, but to each their own.
@@tewstronge9173 it's okay to criticize the quality, but not to bash it because it's not exactly what you wanted
Weezer can do whatever they want. Deal with it.
Nick W. Yeah but that doesn't mean were all gonna like it
Including sucking. More power to them, I guess.
and? doesn't make it good
Edgy
No one said it would be good. If you don't like it then that's great but you don't need to tell everyone about it
There way THINGS ARE AT THIS TIME WE ALL NEED HAPPY HOUR. STAY STRONG. STAY SAFE. STAY HEALTHY.... ♥
this song makes me soooo happy
This is a great groove 👍🏻 I immediately enjoyed it
This song plays in my head constantly; that is not a bad thing though.
I've grown up with Weezer. I'm as old as you can be and still be considered a Millenial. I'm a musician myself, though I've slowed down my metal roots, and started perfecting classical guitar. This new stuff is the best Weezer IMO. It puts you in a place, and I've always loved hip hop. Great to hear a band in their 40's still putting out top 40 singles. Long live the 90's.
I love this video! How everything is in front of your face but you don't notice until it zooms and certain parts of the song play, very creative
Spending my first hour of 2020 listening to this Gem
Maria Ingram nice
2020 really needs a happy hour
I agree, we also do need one.
Fantastic- heard this for the first time 3 days sgo and have played it non stop since, even bought the acoustic version as well as the original! Freakin love this song!!!!
Love it! Just seen you on tour you guys are just fab! The new album is great too!
I stopped crying for this!
Hey weekend, are you a woman
StoneColdMiracle no
did you continue afterwards?
Idk I cried because it makes me want to go to the beach again
Grateful 💕 dope art
I'm so jazzed for this album! I love the cute artsy vids and how unique the style is.
Chill and laid back. Can't wait to cruise around town with this album on repeat.
Goodness Gracious it really is Weezer Wednesday!❤️
This song makes me feel better about my drinking problem
Same with my oxy addiction
Despite this not being the typical Guitar driven Weezer sound,I like it. Very catchy. I can’t seem to get it out if my head.
I'm absolutely loving this new stuff.. I loved white as well but you could tell that Weezer didn't, they seem way more energised about exploring these new directions.. as long as weezer makes music I'm a happy Chappy
this is so catchy
I actually love pacific daydream
This song perfectly encapsulates the mood I've been in for the last four years. 🍹😓
Diggin' the funky chill vibes here, looking forward to this album!
Hey look another really good song from Weezer that isn’t what fans want but would be acceptable if it was any other band
Cloudy yeah. Because weezer is better than that.
GainedSalmon 3 well They will literally never make another Blue or Pinkerton
It's just not possible
It's hard to make a perfect album, but to do it twice is very lucky of
Plus you forget they went more pop throughout their career because people hated Pinkerton when it first came out
Stultus it’s not about making the Pinkerton. Just make a good song. They know how. They do. Pig. Tragic Girl. Plenty of good songs not even released publicly. Weezer tends to release garbage singles and then never promote the good songs.
SV Monarch those songs were B-Sides to be completely fair and they always have pretty good B-Sides
A lot singles in the past they've released are pretty good too though
Look at Dope Nose, Back to the Shack, Cleopatra, King of the World, also I'm gonna add Weekend Woman and Mexican Fender to that list too because those tracks are just as good as the others.
Cloudy
lol yeah. They should really just make a new band name for every album that doesn't have the classic Weezer sound.
It kinda works against them since people still have expectations even though Weezer has been all over the place for over a decade.
THIS IS SUCH A BOP
Came here from a CBS promo of 'The Neighborhood' and 'Bob ❤ Abishola.'
Absolutely floored to find out it's Weezer! Wow, way to keep it fresh, guys!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Love it!
Well im an 80s kid and love this band...love this song.
Love from Portugal!! :D
how many times are you going to whine about pinkerton/blue/black??? aren't you tired yet??? I sure think this new chill Weezer is great, different yes, but still Weezer! can't wait for next Friday
cant wait for this album.
Yes!!! ♫♪
Saw this tonight at "LIVE 105 Not So Silent Night 2017 - Night Two"
Oracle Arena, Oakland CA ♥ ♪
I just heard this at Starbucks an I love it! I thought it was Phoenix!
I like it!
I just heard this on the Simpson's!!
Season 31/ episode 21 😁
Wow. just Wow....Life changing song..deeper each time.
weezer is creative AF! every album is different in tone and style, thats why i love them so much..
Weezer & chill
Weezer for the come back.
This year has been sucky between work, school, dating and anxiety. This song has definitely gotten me through!! So many car ride jams have been this screaming this line : "Sucking on a lime and coconut, COCONUT!!"
I love this whole album. Reminds me of Modern BubbleGum music from the 60's, when I was in middle school. Such fun !!
This sound is Weezer because it’s Weezer playing the sounds.
=w=
Yeah, but Weezer didn't write this. I know this for a fact because I know the person who did.
@@JonathonSantiago no weezer wrote this
@@adishsyed2733 No, it was written for Weezer by a fellow named Chris Sernel. Like I said, I know the man. I can prove that he wrote this.
Jonathon Santiago he co-wrote along with rivers
I need happy hour ..on sad daaays
What a great song. Gotta stop for a second and enjoy this moment.
Now I'm looking into getting tickets to see them LIVE at the LA Forum on Dec. 9! Oh yeah!
I dig the tune, most especially Scott's bass sound which reminds me of old school hip-hop with its warm and embracing tone. Plus has anyone noticed that it's Scott's bassline which propels the song?
Jing Gaddi his bass playing on all these new songs is phenomenal.. it's opening up a totally different side of weezer.. if we could just work in a little bit of shredding somehow to this sound, I would be very happy
Let's be honest, if "Weezer" wasn't in the title of the video, no one would say this is a Weezer song.
Delta G but they would say it’s a good song
HungryGhost57 I agree with you on that
I don't. I know I should be saying that rivers can write whatever he wants to, but really all I want is another Everything Will Be Alright in the End. C'mon, no guitar solos? Barely any guitars?
HungryGhost57 For other bands, but not for Weezer. Weezer can do SO much better than this MOR stuff.
rivers sings it though.
His voice is very recognisable
This song brings back very pleasant but sad memories 🖤🖤
I'm on my 9th repeat. Thank you for the Happy Hour
