DIY Chicken Coop Has Shocking Surprise! (You Have To See How This Works)

- I built the ultimate mobile chicken coop that goes anywhere. It has every feature you can imagine on a backyard chicken coop. It has water misting, an rv ventilation fan, off-road wheels with a lift system, solar power, and a battery bank plus more! This coop has power so you can even heat it in the winter. It's a luxury DIY chicken coop built the HAXMAN way! I wish I could take credit for the jack and wheel idea on the chicken coop but I saw a picture of a smaller coop online where somebody did something similar. Unfortunately, the builder wasn't identified so I can't give them credit.

🐔 ingenuity- [ in-juh-noo-i-tee, -nyoo < ]
- the quality of being cleverly inventive or resourceful; inventiveness:a designer of great ingenuity.
- cleverness or skillfulness of conception or design: a device of great ingenuity.
🐓🤓
🐔 (0:59)- Annals comes from the Latin word annus, meaning year. As the word itself suggests, many annals are yearly records, but this is not always the case. You may encounter the word annals in the phrase “annals of history,” which refers not to one specific historical record but the collection of all recorded history.🐓🤓
🐔 (19:24)- Why is bird poop white?
Actually, bird poop, per se, is not white. Birds, unlike mammals, do not have separate exits for urine and feces. Both waste products are eliminated simultaneously through the cloaca. While mammals excrete nitrogenous wastes mostly in the form of urea, birds convert it to uric acid or guanine, which reduces water loss in comparison. Uric acid thus forms a white sticky paste. So the white part is actually bird pee; it is the dark center that is the poop.🦅🤓
🐔 What does PETA do?
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), goes after haxmen who drop kick their chickens into the neighbor's yard.🐓

You are to be commended for your humour and your editing skills, good sir!
Thank you!
Let's be honest Adam. The Blue roof is to protect your family and the chickens from the space lasers. It's not just a Chicken Coop. It's a bug out shelter from the lasers.
But in other news....AMAZING COOP!
I’m so bummed. I meant to make a joke about that and I forgot. 😄
@@HAXMAN Once we are all gone it will only be the chickens who survive.
@@MajorChisholm We live in sad times, where blue roofs are a necessary part of any build...
(Remembering Lahaina) :(
Brilliant!!!! 😂😂
I always thought it would be cool if someone could come up with a roomba type device with programming that would monitor the chickens as the graze and move the tractor over when they're ready. Completely over engineered for a tractor coop, but the idea makes me smile!
Awesome coop.
If you're gonna go to the trouble of using wood glue, you might as well use the waterproof Titebond III.
For many years now I've been using Titebond III to paint (with brush or roller) on all surfaces of my outdoor wood projects before I apply paint. It acts like the ultimate primer -- hard and waterproof, and makes the wood last much much longer.
I've run tests on wood glues and titebond III performed much better than any other glue tested.
Thank you! I have all these tools I don’t know how to use since the kids dad passed last year.
The way you go about explaining when, how and especially WHY is such a relief!
Most of the instructional creators on CZcams just assume I would know enough to keep up with their narration. Well, it’s very discouraging to get completely lost half way through an instructional because you don’t understand a basic task ☹️
I was not lost even once during your tutorial. And you make me laugh! I actually feel good 😊
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Thank you Gigi. I’m sorry for your loss.
Man, I would absolutely love the plans for this build. It's the way I need to build here in TX for our small yard. Maybe a bit large for our needs, but I love the idea of a tractor / run style that gives them grazing ability and keeps them safe from predators.
I would love to have a set myself. 😂
Not to step on Haxman's toes but there are several small farm channels on here who use chicken "tractors". A couple that come to mind are Hollar Homestead and Sow the Land. I believe they both have videos that show their builds.
@@HAXMANcome on Haxman, draw up those plans for us non genius types. 😂
I just happened upon your video and boy. I’m glad I did. You’ve got quite the sense of humor you, your wife and your daughter. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you build the chicken coop, and I enjoyed all of your little interactions with the hawks.
I'm gonna watch this a few times, cause mindblown
I love your interactions with your children.❤ Mine often come into the workshop too just to be with me.
Master Craftsmanship, Showmanship and Educational film...all in one! You...are the King, yes wifey...there will be no livin with his genius self now! Bravo! Great Great Video!
Rad! I suppose I’d have to put a slightly larger wheel with the kind of ground I’ve got. But a simple upgrade would be to modify the jacks to accept a drill/driver/etc to crank handle instead of doing it by hand.
Loved the video. Not only informational but funny as hell. The only thing I would change is the nestboxes. I would spend the money and use a roll out nest box. Cleaner eggs and no damage to the eggs. Other than that seems like a perfect build for a small flock.
I watched my first HAXMAN yesterday. Frankly, I was surprised how entertaining & informative it was, way more entertaining than what I was expecting! No offense. This chicken coup sealed the deal & I’m now subscribed!
I'm glad to see that you've built a better stronghold for your feathered friends. It seems to be well fortified against land predators, air predators and space lasers. Well done!
Thank you!
Always a treat to see a new video!
Thank you!
Great video and always nice to see a square head screws in the video. A trick I learned when caring sheets of plywood is stand it tall put your back to it, and then put your hands on the edges while squatting just a little bit hold onto it and lean forward, carry it like a backpack. Great videos always be safe. Keep the chicken safe.
Hawks are my Spirit animal. LOVED your moment at the meeting. I held my breath thinking that hawk would go for a finger when the food went flying. OUCH!!
The hawk poo in the face had me rolling. Love the coop!
Getting me pumped to come back to the states and rebuild my coop. The humor was on point!
Very good, this is the standard of quality people should be striving for, it's better to build something to last, congrats on your build.
Hello. I love your videos! A pro tip for installing the roof panels: stack your panels after cutting them to length and pre-drill your holes (through the stack) for your screws(for purlins) this makes install much easier and your screws line up perfectly. You also avoid the little burrs that can mess with your rubber washers. Hope this helps someone!
I watched my first haxman video yesterday: your humour definitely makes these videos worth watching .
Also I’m enjoying this idea of the chicken coop, I want something similar in my garden (to keep the dog away from chickens when I get them)
You guys are so funny!! And so talented!! I tried not to be jealous of your great woodworking skills! Ha!!
I love the humor in your video this was very time-consuming and hilarious at the same time keep the good editing and channel going brother I know it's a lot of work I love the idea of this chicken coop but I honestly could not afford to do it I don't think and the tools I'm a rigid man myself but I'm sure this will give a lot of inspiration for others again I love your humor
Outstanding build. Always look forward to your spin on all things homestead
You are a wonderful source of information in so many subjects. While I don't (and won't) have chickens, I do plan on a greenhouse and some of these ideas a great for that. Thank you for what you do. (and for the chuckles along the way). Wishing you prosperity and safety in 2024 and beyond.
Thank you
Chicken math ... it is real.
My husband and I are finishing our first coop build by ourselves. Found this video after a long day of building and man that was fantastic!!! I never expected to find this level of production quality on a chicken coop video. The chickens are kinda my thing but my husband goes along with it. This is the perfect type of content to get him to watch with me because it's entertaining and not bland like most chicken content. Keep at it!
Thank you! Best wishes on your build.
Came to learn how to build a chicken coop. I now feel confident enough to build a house.
Glad to see a New Video out !
I laughed so hard at the voice over for Kim! This is only the second video I've watched, the new smokeless firepit being the first, and your humour caught me. I'm in and subscribed!
Very entertaining and informative build video. I am about to embark upon the build of our first coop. Like yours, my plans call for the metal roof to be attached to the framed rafters. How do you prevent sparrows and other pests, ie mice from getting through the gaps in the metal roofing?
Very talented family. Awesome to see talent coming into use. Great job.
Nice craftsmanship
Love it. Thank you for sharing your talent and humour 😂
Beautiful work. Very impressive.
That was beautiful
ahh man the Voldemort bit caught me off guard, laughed so loud i woke next doors baby up
😁
Awesome work as always. I remember finding your channel a few years back and was shocked you only had like 32k subscribers. Glad you are over half a million. You will break the million mark in no time. Great build and great bullshit. Keep rollin!
Thank you!
Oh my goodness! I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!
Thanks for making us laugh while you’re teaching us so much important stuff.
Very nice. I got similar wheels for my coop, but haven't put them on yet. My plan was to place each one in the center of each side because I only have 2. I like the drop cloth. I have plastic cloths that pull up on each side, but will take them off when I put the wheels on and do like you did with yours.
The “hiyas” and the taped nose….cracking me up…..just like those boards!
Man I’m so glad I came across this channel. Insightful and fun to watch. Not a boring second. Good job sir!
très très bien pensé et conçu ! bravo ! et en plus il est très beau 🤩j'adore !
Just when I was wondering where the hell the Haxman's been, a video pops up. It's not even my birthday. Rad!
Thank you. I did not know that the stop on the mitre saw could do that. That makesthingsg that I tried in the past so much easier. The halflap for example, I did not you could do that with it.
Awesome! I love it when someone actually learns something from my video. 😃
Inspiring. Awesome build and worth the wait. Keep it up 🤠
I've never seen rough sawn ply here in uk and it does have a good look and the fact its cheap is a bonus
Wow! That should keep your flock happy - although the addition of an entertainment system for the chickies would keep them dancing!🐔💃
I wish I had this knowledge!!
Que buena tecnica para armar un gallinero
I put misting nozzles around the top of the trampoline for the kids. They constantly clog because of the minerals in the water. I ended up using a file meant for carburetor jets to ream them out. The spray is not as fine but they don't care.
I always enjoy seeing the family envolved in the projects!
Thank you!
For your driveway, use a good degreaser (we use Zep concrete cleaner), saturate the painted areas and let sit for a few minutes, then use a mild cupped wire brush on your cordless drill at low speed to remove the paint, rinse thoroughly. Go gentle with the wire brush as it'll burnish your concrete if used too aggressively.
Thanks!
Pressure wash? no chemicals...
WOW - the world needs more Haxman men, for sure, for sure. Well done, you well-skilled hunk of capabilities. 🏆♥
😄 Thank you!
I love it when Homesteading BobbyDukeArts uploads a new video
😮😂 enjoyed this. I am familiar with all those jobs done by a farm raised husband.Thankfully you displayed only the good humor part. Is that even possible?
Awesome! ❤ FANTASTIC! 😊 Extraordinary! 😢 Genius! ❤
Funny thing... I got a KFC ad on this video. Not the kind of chicken I want to have.
😄
😂😂🤣🤣🤣
So did i
Me too😢
Me also.
Great content! One concern with chickens is that they very easily get respiratory issues that result in flu or death. If you start noticing those symptoms, it's likely the water mist emitters doing it. Keeping a dry coop will help avoid it.
Damn... He built a chicken coup better than 90% of these new home builders here in SC.
Nice, thank you for sharing. Keep the humor going!
Great video!👍🏾💪🏾
You have a great family always helping on your videos. thank you again for fun videos.
Thank you so much
An awesome build!! Would love the plans to build it!!
Okay, I am so happy to have my first set of chickens, I have been begging my husband for years.... but coming upon this video is even more glorious. You are awesome, keep making videos!!!
This was not your typical builders guide... this was so funny to watch as well as like learn of course! Awesome, Awesome video man
loving the new build videos. great humor. you seem to be having fun doing this new format and it shows in the quality of the content.
Thank you very much!
You act like a great dad. It was fun watching you build this chicken coop with your humor, the different voices you used (and your hawk), and your video style. Look forward to seeing more. 😅❤
Thanks so much!
Happy to see ya posting again
I am a new subscriber after binge watching ALL your videos. OMG! I thoroughly enjoyed every single one! Your humour and editing skills are fantastic. Project selection is great. And your family is beautiful! I love how patient you are when teaching them something new. Keep it up and I’ll keep watching. Greetings from Canada and the Robertson screw!!!!
Thank you!
great camera work and editing. top notch. loved it
This is the best channel on CZcams. Very enjoyable video. I doubt I’ll ever need a chicken coupe, but I watched this entire video enthusiastically. Amazing.
Thank you so much!
Awesome. Some great ideas live the RV fan. I think in the long run, those 8” casters will be less hassle.
Loved this creation, video production and coop. You made it soo interesting
I was going to ask about plans for this amazing coop, but I'm glad you addressed it. Lol
With the mesh, when you do the inside also do the outside of the coop reason for this it adds double protection for the chickens.
Love SketchUP! Good program. Love your videos man. It's good to see the girls helping out. I keep my two buzzing around the farm with me, learning, helping and just generally being cute. LOL.
Thanks Tyler!
Just found your channel and oh my goodness I want one!!! My husband just retired from the army after 20+ yrs and we moved out to the country. I started looking at prices for coops 🤦🏼♀️! Shut the front door! Living just a little NW of Fort Hood, (yes I know it’s now Fort Cavazos) I need this coop!! Being an extreme city girl and raising my 3 children (35,27,12) in the city. I am so honored to learn a different way of life and being able to expose my youngest child to it. We have 10 white tail Doe’s and 4 Bucks that come in our yard daily. Once at 6:45 am and then again at 8:10 pm. I go out in the yard with them (about a foot away) and throw some apple corn for them. Goodness knows if I’m not paying attention they let me know!! 🤣 We just started growing herbs and jalapeños. I can’t wait to venture beyond.
I have zero need for this but your videos are so well edited and entertaining I’ll still watch it.
First time watching your video. Great job on the chicken tractor. Love your humor!!!! Very entertaining!
Just found you.. subbed.. lol
You're a hoot brah!
Great channel.. thank you!
:)
Just a kudos to your outstanding song selection ;) Oh and awesome idea for the coop!
bravo 👏 well done sir !
Thank you!
Love the HAXMAN! Always a treat when your vids come up. And your french accent really has improved. 👊🏼💯
Put a couple of U bolts on the bottom front and you can pull it around with your truck. Maybe even your lawnmower, if you get bigger tires.
Great video! I really appreciated the "hawks" aspect. I'm moving to a new area with several hawks and was curious as to how much of a threat they really are.
Nice closeup of you feeding that hawk, btw!
Awesome video. I keep convincing myself NOT to get chickens, but now I want a coop like that.
It's a slippery slope you are on there. Next thing you will be trying to not buy more chickens just because "We don't have any that look like that."
Your family is blessed to have you! Thank you for sharing you with us! New subscriber!
Thank you so much. It’s the other way around though. 😉
@@HAXMAN I predicted you would say that too! You all deserve great things and blessings!
Maaaan I felt the work along strugle here. I also like to build stuff and work for my family, but it hurts a bit when I feel like I give them so much, but I have to sometime insist to get a hand for something they've asked for.
You sir, are the Dad I wish I'd been. Great sense of humor, mad skills, and just based on this video you get a sub! I want to start with a few chickens but time is an issue and a place to put a coop out of the wind (blows almost non stop where I am during the winter and I would feel like crap if I went out and my birds were frozen solid), but it will happen eventually. I love building and do the best I can with limited workspace and tools. I like using old pallet wood I get for free to make things that are useful and don't look bad. Anyways, great video!
27:26 This is such a simple and awesome Idea! I love all the features you put into this coop, but this one is especially awesome!
U r hilarious! I wish I could build the way u do. Generally I don't watch videos that require such a high level of skill, tools, materials, etc, but it was so much fun I have subscribed!
Wow, thank you!
1:45 when i cut half laps like that, i like to use a rough rasp instead of a chisel to clean it up, it goods much smoother
I'll try that next time.
Awesome video, keep up the good work
You're an editing genius.
Thank you!
I build all my coops in 4'x6' panel sections that get put together like Lego lol
I built a Carolina coop like this about 4 years ago. I’m thinking going to add wheels on mine like you did
Just throwing this out there: I found that the Ace brand construction adhesive works every bit as well as the name brand stuff for significantly less.
