Probably because you were barely conscious of the world when the band entered the scene 🙄. They were already on circuit by 1993. Tragic Kingdom came out in '95.

They put on a great show at Disneyland Gradnite in 1995. Only about 20-30 kids watching them rock out at 2 or 3am at the Magic Kingdom. 😉👍

@@jimmyb2471 yes. We didn't know who they were because we went to school in Santa Barbara and they were from the OC. We took lots of pics of the crazy girl in pink. She was hype the whole show. I wish i knew who had the other videos from that night. You would definitely see my friends and me. I was a 6'3" 270lb football guy and stand right in front of the stage. GRADNIGHT 95.. dam we are old. Lol thanks for the reply 🤘👊

As young kids at this show, we thought she was hot and wild. She had that little pink dress and was high kicking all over the place. She didn't care if we saw her undies. Lol. We had a great morning and will never forget the Disneyland show before the big fam. 🤘👍

Can you find out how to get more videos from that 95 grad night. My friends and I are one of only 15 or 20 kids that watched that show. It was like 2 or 3am on the Tomorrowland stage. Great memories from the end of HS. 👍🤘👊

There was always something a little off about the band’s chemistry, like they didn’t really gel 100%, this explains it.
Not a huge fan, but did feel like something was missing.
Didn't help that Gwen was dating one of the members, but they broke up. You can see when by the color of her hair, any color but pink when she was dating, pink when she was single.
Then record execs started focusing WAY more on her than the entire group, which put a rift between them, which is why she wrote Don't Speak, to kinda apologize. I'm _really_ summarizing, but that's kind of the gist.

It started from Eric and not John. But John gave the band a reason to exist. Proof is in their success and longevity. The sadness is overshadowed by the positive vibe they give to everyone. You never hear about scandels involving the current band members?

I just read up on this about a few days ago before seeing this pop up on my feed. What a great fun teen story with a tragic ting yet a happy ending...he was only 18. I would love to know more and why he decided to end what could have been the best years of his life. I love No Doubt so much without a doubt about it❤️

I always wondered why Gwen doesn't talk about her brother often and if he was working behind the scenes with other artists.
He didn't take their increasing fame and him losing control of the band very well. I get the feeling he feels resentment to Gwen, which isn't really fair to her. She loves him dearly
He still hasn't really moved on. He considers himself an animator but has done like 3 shorts in the past 25 years and he hasn't improved his skills.

@@Yobidefy How do you know he's doing good exactly? Because he was an animator for the Simpsons? The animation industry is usually filled with long hours and little pay because it's a dream job for most people. There are little studios that compensate their animators well, because they know there's always someone behind them waiting and willing to take the low pay and replace them.
@@user.Icarus I dont know go ask him. Working for any television production is good, its hard to get into those industries. It isnt always rainbow and sunshine but still that can be added up to your resume. Just because he doesnt work there any more that doesnt make him less good or less successful.

I worked for a small music store in 1997 in Buena Park. My buddy said he knew the drummer for Insted and to come to a house party in Anaheim off of North Street; I said, I’m down.
So we roll up, park in the driveway and ring the bell. Adrian the drummer answers the door with Coors in hand. I walk in and with only about 30 people total, I’m now sitting with the entire band watching the Mr. Hanky episode of South Park that just made its debut. Gwen is next to me with her right hand wrapped for some reason, and on my other side is Tom and his lady.
Surreal. Then at some point, Eric gets on the piano and the rest is a blur.
Is there any recordings of the band with him in it?

I'm 35 I've been a big fan since I was about 7. Still love listening to their music my mum loves them too. Gwen Stefani is no doubt always loved her fashion and makeup. I'm not one for fashion but Gwen Stefani definitely xx 💖
Really wish they would've kept on going, and Gwen didn't sell out to do bs songs like "B! A-N-A-N-A-S!" Real tragedy that Spence took his life before they took off. I'm sure it has a lot to do with them not continuing later on, but even so. They had their own unique niche that was really going somewhere. I would personally love to hear their super early stuff when Spence was in the band.

I saw the legendary ND with John way back , in Long Beach ca, they opened for Sublime. Two front men that died way too young.

In the 90's when someone would say "no doubt" to me ( common phrase back then ) I would always reply with " spider webs" Loved the band since the beginning. Never knew how they got their name. Sad but inspirational.

What's miraculous is one of the greatest bands of all time may have been just about to become a successful band in a totally different iteration. That is, they "made it" twice, when most bands can only dream of it. I assume the Steffanis are really at the heart it. Focus and stamina are the two absolutely crucial elements of success on that level.
