What a great performance again of Femke and Lieke. It is a pity that we couldn't see the finish of the other two women. Noami van den Broeck ran a PB and finished third after being on the fourth place in the last corner. She must have had an excellent finish.
What's so nice about Femke and Lieke, two world class athletes, is that they compete almost year round and at such small meets. That is great for the fans. Not many can hope to travel to the very big outdoor events, such as the Olympic games, where the elusive Sydney McLaughlin sometimes shows up.

The women's 400m relay in Paris is going to be an absolute cracker (Netherlands, USA, UK, Jamaica, Poland). Femke's smooth style is in the mould of the great Allyson Felix (ran her 400m PB of 49.26 aged 30).

So this is basically a flying start. And in the relay the first three have a disadvantage of the handover at the end, but the anchor runner doesn't. So it often happens that the anchor runner will run very fast times.

Great race from Femke once again. Although it didn't break any records, we could see that she ran a faster first lap speed than last year. If we add that to the improvement she has made in the 200m, it's evident that her recent training during off-season has been focused on her early peak speed, which is what is needed if she is to challenge Sydney in the 400m hurdles.
Think outdoors 400mh is difficult for Femke to beat WR this year. Maybe run a low 51s or at best 50.9x. Question is can Sydney challenge her own record? And is she running at all? 😅
Perhaps L.Klaver will do that in the future, it is just those last 100-120m on a 400m run she has to give in. Her strenght goes way down as one can clearly see at 2.45Min (about 100-120m before finish line) into this vid, she was not able to lift her knee/upperleg the same height anymore as F.Bol did and by that loosing centimeters on every stride/step. Those upper legs needs specified training to keep going.

To be fair to dalilah, she's in her mid 30's now. Which is old for sprinters. She was at her peak or just on her decline in the 2021 Olympics and ever since then, femke has managed to edge her out and beat her in every race they've gone head to head

klaver missed a trick here. her only chance was to get in front of Bol at the crossover. she probably wouldnt have won still but it wouldve taken a few tenths off bol by making her go around.
Femke split 23.5 on the 200m in this race. Lieke is very good at the 200m, but I doubt even she can get in front of a 23.5 split... I think that if she would try to get in front she would probably end up with a worse time at the 400m finish, as she would fade a lot harder.

It’s interesting that Bol cuts out Klaver at 200m. She can then widen her lead. Klaver would be wise to cut off Bol. Bol is much lighter, smoother and less muscle bound so she will overtake challengers in longer distances. Klaver might do better dropping down
The only thing in her way is American Sydney Mclaughlin who haven't really race in almost a year and coming back from injury! but apparently she is busy promoting her book!

Yeah but Felix ran a crazy 47.8s almost WR on a relay. Im surprised she never ran a mid 48s. Strange!
