  • Most Malawians remember Khwauli Msiska for tabling the Open Terms Bill in Malawi Parliament on 4 July 2002. The Bill sought to amend Section 83 (3) of the Malawi Constitution which sets limits on presidential tenure of office; it wanted to allow a president to renew his/her mandate for as many times as they want and not be limited to two terms. The bill was defeated.
However, besides this, Khwauli has been a member of parliament for two terms representing Karonga Nyungwe. he was once appointed as High Commissioner to South Africa in December 2019, however he never went on the mission since his appointment coincided with the change of government. In 2003 Khwauli Msiska was appointed deputy minister of Economic Planning and Development by the Muluzi government. He has now authored an autobiography titled Beyond Chasing a Dream where he talks about his adventures in Tanzania and Kenya among other things.
