    I had a strong suspicion this would be one of your faves! Yongguk co-wrote this song after coming back from his hiatus for panic and anxiety disorders so it was very personal for the group and their fans. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one as much as I do

    I miss B.A.P so much I can't even put it into words. They were so ahead of their time like this was in 2017, they've always been so vocal about social and mental issues and it's such a shame that they were under TS instead of a company that actually knows how to treat and promote their artists properly

  • @ash.0325
    @ash.0325 Před 3 lety +88

    So sad that these boys were under TS, basically the worst possible company ever. TRCNG endured abuse from the company, and I know they’ve had their fair share of other scandals. Aside from that, B.A.P’s music is so nostalgic and powerful.
    Please support the boys from B.A.P who have gone solo

    I cryed when I first saw the mv because it was the time when Yongguk came back after his hiatus 😭😭

    The nostalgia is real in this one, B.A.P were one of the first groups I really got into when I first started listening to Kpop and they're still part of my absolute favourites, B.A.P remain untouchable

  • @hp5682
    @hp5682 Před 3 lety +42

    YES, MY BABIES!
    The song is about mental health, about getting out of that tunnel and waking up of that situation.
    They use their music to talk about important stuff since debut. KINGSSSS.
    Check out "Badman", talks about society and the "bad guys", criminals.
    And 4:44 AM by Yongguk to understand why they went through with their company.

    It's not a BAP song without some deep lyrics and Daehyun high note.
    Wake me up is one of my favourite kpop songs ever since it got released (and i got into kpop back in 2015.)
    This song really helped me out through a lot of dark times in my own life (and a lot of BAP songs tbh) and their songs carry very deep meaning

    The way the MV is set to include the group in the locations but not with the people is a fascinating attempt to downplay the struggles of mental health issues within South Korea (& the world).
    B.A.P. subtly did join those voices at the end of the video when each one of the group picked up the red rose which had only been shown held by the main characters.

    this is one of my fave b.a.p songs and no matter how many times i listen to it it never fails to hit hard. it's one of those songs that i can only listen to when i need it, but it always makes me emotional and can provide comfort. i miss the b.a.p so much for the fact that they never shied away from using their music to talk abt serious issues like mental health in their songs. and i'm happy some of the members have been able to find success in solo careers.
    all these boys deserve the best and b.a.p deserved so much better

  • @OfficialAwkbe
    @OfficialAwkbe Před 3 lety +3

    I'm sorry for the long story but I hope this helps people going through mental health disorders.
    In 2016, when I went through really bad anxiety attacks, I couldn't even sit in my college classroom. I would panic to the point of not being able to breathe and would just cry outside because I thought I was broken and my life was over. I had to take time off of school for a year and developed a social phobia, so I didn't really go out much. My already existing depression worsened and I lost my grip on reality for a while. This song was co-written by Yongguk when he suffered similarly to what I was going through around the same time... so this song really hit me when I first heard it in 2017. When you see the characters going kind of crazy, that's really how it felt for a while there. Luckily, I managed to get myself back together and got anxiety medication before going back to college in 2018. I graduated college this year and just got hired at my first adult job... For those suffering from anxiety, depression, or other mental disorders... please hang in there and know that giving it some time and reaching out can really help. My anxiety and depression aren't cured, but it's manageable and I feel hope for the first time in a long time.

    4 years since Wake Me Up was released, and this song is still the song of the century. The way they always talk about social awareness since 2012, B.A.P are truly a group that has *always* and will *always* hit different.

    B.A.P really never disappoint in any of their songs. They keep on giving us songs with beautiful messages and uniting fans with it. Unfortunate that they were under TS who knew nothing but to scrap them all off for money. They are my number 1 kpop group and will always be.

  • @edpotter1170
    @edpotter1170 Před 3 lety +2

    You're probably the first CZcamsr i've seen that understand and actually talk about the message correctly at first listen. Others always be like "i dont get the message" or "idec about the message, the song is dope!" which is really not the point of Bang Yongguk writing the song...

  • @gracelast5487
    @gracelast5487 Před 3 lety

    to this day BAP remain so uniq in the kpop landscape. they spoke about important issues like social justice and mental health before it was cool to do that. I really miss them because they are still my favourite group. the live performance of this song killed me bc Yongguk only joins at the middle when his rap part starts and that reveal they do was so symbolic and important to us babyz, the whole group standing together and welcoming their leader back from his hiatus due to anxiety and panic disorder. thank you so much for these reactions it means a lot to be able to relive these emotions once again of hearing these songs for the first time.
