Making Kitchen Drawer Organization

- I have finally gotten around to making organizers for three of our kitchen drawers. In one of the lower drawers, we keep all of our flat things like cookie sheets, cutting boards, and pizza pans. They were just sitting in the drawer and we had to dig through the pile anytime we wanted to use anything. I built a storage system the holds the items separate and vertically. I also built divided boxes for two of the top drawers on either side of the stove. One is for our silverware and the other is for our cooking utensils.

Love to see Frank and Frank working together without arguing... ;)))
..and such a nice job they are doing... always..! ;)))
Frank only argues with Frank in post
Yeah, but you didn't see what they did off camera!
Who knows what was said during the project. You only hear him in post.
Late to this vid but glad I found this channel. Been binge watching a bunch of Mr. Howarth's older vids for the last few hours. Some times YT recommendations get it right...
Those cute kitty's deserve a high quality Frank Howarth cat tree
Maybe a Frank take on Oliver Kriege's cat tree?

it’s like appreciating the beauty of a brilliant human’s brain
Just a thought, maybe you can add a cheap Laser line to your Radial Arm Saw so you don't have to awkwardly bend over to see the cut it might make things easier and safer?
I have been wanting to do that, just have not gotten to it. I like the idea of an old tool with a fancy pants laser on it.
I like the CNC machine as an overhead router.
I use mine that way too, but I use it for roundover bits, super easy to dial in the right depth.
I saw that and thought “omg that’s brilliant!”

Thank you, Frank, for doing all the work and editing to make these really enjoyable videos.
I got a shock when the cat came out of the drawer cabinet but it was soooo funny afterwards. :-D
If I had more than two thumbs, they would all be "up". Very nice!
Haha! Your special effects are a total scream Frank. Awesome video.
WOW that is one fabulous workshop!!! Thank you for the tutorial, I am very interested in getting as much use out of storage as possible .
Another imaginative use of the CNC. No one uses it better. Keep the ideas coming. You should write a book - Practical Uses of the CNC.
I love your curious, adorable cat!
Another great video! Bringing just a little bit more order to the chaos in this world.
Frank, you’re the best.
Dear Frank, Watching your videos often makes me long for your skills, knowledge, talent and tools. Then I realize your life is a never ending “honey do list” Haha Haha. Cheers man, great job, keep em coming.
I really get a kick out of watching your videos. And sometimes I even manage to look away from the way your shop is organized to pay attention to what you're building. Thanks for sharing. Mike
Your videos played a huge part in helping me realize my love for engineering / design and deciding to go back to school! Thanks, Frank
Always a pleasure to watch.👍
Just a quick suggestion for your silverware drawer if you reduce the height of your back and put drawer runners on the top section you will not have to lift the tray out just slide it back to get to the bottom trim just a thought
First time here, Frank the Tank. I was so captivated by your manners, your production/editing. This was like a pbs type mini workshop!
I started watching your videos randomly. But am so addicted now that I use your video to sleep through the night. Your voice is like a lullaby to me.
I do like carpentry, may be after my retirement I would like to have a shop for myself.
Thanks for the inspiration and the peaceful sleep! :)
Another great Frank Howarth video to enjoy! The Grand master of Organization!
Using the CNC router as a upside down router table just made my day thankyou Frank you are amazing
Thanks for sharing, Frank! Always fun to watch.
Beautifully stored... just what I need in *my* kitchen! 👍
Nicely done, Sir! More great ideas.
Love your videos, anybody else making this video would be boring... you have a gift!
Well you beat me. I put our "new" kitchen in in 1999. Last year my wife got her custom dividers, finally. They are made from solid beech and no bottoms. My wife is old school and wanted rubberized draw lining. It was easier to line the entire drawer and place the divider assembly on top of it. Wish we had full extension drawers.
I love your videos, frank. Thank you
Love how it came out Frank! You put so much time and effort into your work it’s amazing to watch
Organization. The bane of my existence. Great job. As always.
This was going to be my very next project, your timing is perfect thanks so much !
Love your work Frank!!
Turned out great Frank!! Organization builds are always very gratifying.
Love your videos Frank! Your an amazing wood worker. Keep up the fantastic work! Much love from New Zealand.
The stacked cutlery organizers are brilliant, I see them in our future. Thanks for sharing!
The skill and production quality keeps blowing me away.
so satisfying! great job Frank!
Lovely work - the thing I really like about your videos is that you end up answering any questions I have during the course of the video. Love the attention to detail and quality of your work
Amazing that you can make the creation of rectangular boxes so entertaining.....and that even though the process was simple you also managed to teach valuable lessons. Thank you Frank
A pleasure to watch, as always.
Such order... I love it! I wish I could do things like this! It would be awesome to have a home that is nearly entirely custom built like yours!
Our house was *just* finished, this video gave me lots of ideas for our own kitchen, thanks! The table saw will be busy after we move in!
Great project! Thanks a lot as always!
You have inspired me with the bench for shoe storage. I still need to get around this one. This could be next on my list. Now, I just need to find some time.
Happy to see another video!
Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing. Jim Mossman
Very useful video Frank. Love the CNC machined handles. The handles add class to the dividers. Very nice.
Well done. Your table is absolutely amazing
You make even the simplest things seem interesting Frank. Nice work! And Cinnamon is a cutie!
Those organizers are awesome
Great idea, I like it very much. Thank you for sharing your story. God bless you and your family
Pretty inspiring. now i just gotta order a whole woodshop from amazon to build it.
Frank, you’re awesome man !! Love your shows. You must be a Gemini with the 2 of you in that shot !
Enjoyed it Frank. Wife will be happier now
wow, nice idea btw. Organising is best what can be done. Great video and good attention to details. Thanks Frank.
Perfect. Just moved, and need new drawer inserts! Thanks, Frank.
Your talent amazes me. I need to do this for my wife, but without the amazing tools and skill 😂thank you.
Some really great solutions, Frank! Enjoyed the video.
Love it! I need to get more organized like this.
Nicely done Frank! Did something similar to this a few years back. At first, it seemed like a simple project but turned out being quite a build. Good learning experience........ :)
Well done, Frank. Another interesting video.
The most expensive dividers in the world! Nice work and video Frank, thank you!
The top organizer of the drawer could be be made sliding as well. So once the drawer is pulled out you could slide back the top organizer vs lifting it out
Now there's an idea! Notch out the back of the actual drawer and put a set of slides on the top tray... Cool! As you push the actual drawer shut the top tray would return to "home".
There you go, Frank - a fancy-pants top tray! :-)
Yep, I'm surprised he didn't go with a half size top section that would slide over the lower section.
Just like IKEA
I have done these types before. Drawer pulls out. And top tray slides back when needed.
Dave, are you saying that the top tray would be the same size as the bottom tray? If so, what supports the back of the top tray when the drawer is pulled out and you slide the top tray all the way back to get to the contents of the bottom tray? Where would the slides on the top tray go. I really like your idea here and want to completely understand what you are suggesting. Thanks, Barry.
Nice job love your work
Love this project. I need some of the same kinds of inserts!
Simple made awesome. Thank you for the content.
Beautiful work Frank!
After watching this, I really like the 2-tier idea for the silverware drawer, but I probably would make the upper tier 1/2 length, to slide 'front to back' on top of the lower tier, and give access to utensils on the lower level without having to remove the upper level...I've also seen some kitchen cabinets where a single drawer face has an upper drawer half on separate slides behind it (two drawers behind a single drawer face).Nice work! You're giving me ideas for when I remodel my kitchen.
Super satisfying, great as always.
Thank you! Love the perfection!
That baking tray holder is genius, thanks for sharing it! :-)
Thanks Frank! Great video!!!
I made a similar holder for cooking sheets but used parallel dowel in a base plate. I used adjustable shelf pin jig to drill the holes. They are adjustable too. It works very well.
Very useful Frank! I need to do something like this for our house
You make neat videos Frank!
Inspirational as always!
Awesome work as always!
Awesome build
Really nice Frank! 👍👊
Good. your working is always awsome.!! I love to see your shop. Thank you~~
as always, beautiful.
Excellent video as always. I am doing a similar thing myself right now. Organization is worth the effort.
Your videos are amazing, some of the best on youtube!
Your editing is awesome!
excellent as always.
Always funn and informative, Thanks Frank...
Wow . . . great job . . . . master of masters . . . .
That bokeh looks unreal! Awesome video as always
Using the CNC as a router table is genius.
I am becoming a bit jealous. Those dividers are very nice. Well done!
Very nice, very inspiring for organization.
Love the video! More practical projects like this would be AWESOME!
Who the heck clicks thumbsdown on Frank Howarth? That's craziness.
Great,Frank 👍👏👏👏👏👏
Those are fantastic. I'm super jealous. And the stacked trays makes sense for hiding the less used stuff like toddler plastic flatware.
Though I do have one thought. The utensil drawer cubbies ... with the smaller ones in the back you have to pull the drawer all the way out to reach them. If you turned it around so the longer cubbies were in the back and made sure the handles of the longer items in those back cubbies were turned the correct way you could access them without pulling the drawer all the way out. But those are probably the more used items anyway so having them in front is really useful.
Hi Frank, I just love your precision and your workshop, have you thought of just opening the back end of the drawer for the height of the upper section, so you could just slide the upper portion back, to access the bottom portion, and just put locks at the top of the drawer to lock the upper portion not to fall, with a small square stick running over the upper portion of the top section, if you have no room, you could use a small angle iron installed on the exterior...
Again, nice Work Frank! Greetings from Germany
This was nicely done.
5:56 I love how you did the extra work just to keep the cat in. Nice.
