The thirst for metal heads came from Stranger Things, where one of the lead characters/heroes was an 80’s style metal head/hesher. All the girls were crushing on him. This is my theory.
Bingo. Turns out what they liked was actually the character's personality, which many people from many subcultures have. TV really gets people man.
As an ex hair stylist, the metal guys with the long hair had the HEALTHIEST and most shiny hair ever! When I quit, I let my own hair go natural, and now I have locks that rival all the early thrash metal dudes. Pure inspiration.😂
My husband is one of those guys. He basically does nothing but wash it once a week and brush it twice a day.
@@ZhovtoBlakytniy the less u wash your hair the healthier it will be shampoo is full of chemicals that strip your hair from its natural oils and conditioner is supposed to reapply some oil but its artificial and not good oils for your hair
@hatredbydesign there was a point where I'd shampoo my hair once every 4-6 weeks/never shampooing at all and i found the best is around once every 1½ weeks, but conditioning was always used

I'm very protective over my hair got my Argan Oil, my Sea Salt Spray, I even carry a travel brush in my jacket to make sure it's pristine throughout the day, I get my hair trimmed as recommended by my hair stylist
I feel like a lot of guys don't take care of their hair and then they smell like fertilizer and have gross greasy hair and I don't want to be like that, us Men gotta take care of our hair too

I have a story regarding the "metalhead/emo mixup." I was grabbing food at my college's cafeteria a few weeks ago, and I was just sitting in there waiting for my next class. This table of girls next to me were talking about some guy that I think one of them was kind of into, but she seemed kind of skeptical about him. So one of the other girls goes, "Ohh no, is he emo?", looks at me and says, "... like him?" It was such a funny thing, because I literally was sitting at my table listening to Björk with a big smile on my face (probably because I had just talked to a much nicer girl before this happened), and I just had on jeans and a black shirt. Now, obviously, I'm no longer a True Metalhead because I should have been absolutely seething over that comment, but instead I took the poser route of laughing about it and moving on with my day, lmao

I remember this scene girl who was *SO* hot back in the day, and actually seemed to be interested in me - we chatted a lot late into the night, hung out a few times, etc. I ended up with a ticket for a show I wasn’t gonna be able to make and offered it to her, she comes over to pick it up - sans makeup and hair. That was the end of my interest in scene girls, full stop. 10-or-so years later, I’m married to a country girl. 😂

Not really a metal head myself more of a casual listener. I have to disagree on the point about no one thinking metal is satanic. I’m Latino and I have heard this often from others in the Latino community. Doesn’t really matter what the lyrics are they just hear the vocals and think it’s demonic.They say stuff like “oh you listen to that devil shit?” Ironically these people usually listen to music about love of money, sex, and murder as if that isn’t satanic. I think there are exceptions from metal heads hating country and that is metal heads that grew up in the south. I’m from Texas and there is huge metal scene down here and a lot of them love country. My step brother is a drummer in a deathcore band and I’ve seen him play in cowboy boots 😂
