Traveled too many miles on the road for 15 years as a ironworker but have stayed home every night since I changed my occupation to diesel mechanic and I dont miss the road but I do miss the traveling sometime so to me it's a double edge sword
I drove for 28 years, the hardest thing I ever had to do was explain to my son that it wasn't because I didn't want to be there for his baseball games that my job took me away. The stuff we miss puts more miles on your heart than the road.
Now after becoming a father of three..I filled out my last log book page a couple years ago putting my final shutdown here at home.
