It is crazy, these guys don’t know what they are talking about. Currency devaluation/revaluation only exists in a fixed exchange rate regime. I don’t think Ethiopia has a fixed exchange rate regime. The Ethiopian birr has depreciated because the government is printing money and the market is giving it the correct value which is what is trading on the market $1 = 120birr. Leave the exchange rate to the market and the government should be committed to prudent monetary policy, that is the only way out.
