- We paid a 2nd visit to the site where Hull fair is being set up , this video is 48 hours after the first video so you can see the progress they have made in that short time.
We will be going back again one more time in a few days to see how it looks 2 days before the fair starts, we will then be there on open night for when it first opens.

I too am also off on Tuesday to look at the progress, that 3rd wheel closest to stadium is in a funky spot, its normally tucked away at the edge/ corner of the faior and now its in the middle. Very Exciting!

Isn't Goose Fair the oldest, and The Hoppings the biggest?
I might not be 100% correct...
I'm not sure to be honest, I got this information off a local newspapers website, however I am hearing some conflicting information on which of the biggest and oldest now, but regardless its still a really really old (735 years) and really huge travelling funfair.

Most historians agree the fair probably started just after 1284 when the Charter of King Edward I referred to city fairs in Nottingham. The name probably came from the hundreds of geese which were driven from Lincolnshire to be sold in Nottingham. A fat roast goose was a traditional Michaelmas treat

@@TheDandylion5 so, as far as I can gather, the largest is The Hoppings, and the oldest might actually be Goose Fair, but only by a smidgen...
