They played a few finals against each other and had some MRP incidents (mainly against Ballantyne) but they aren’t rivals. I don’t know of anyone or have I heard of anyone look at the fixture and pencil in the Cats v Freo and think I can’t wait to beat Freo BUT the vast majority of cats fans look at the Hawks games and want to beat them. Yes you can have more than one rival but Freo aren’t rivals with the cats.
