Thanks. The lift car is actually on that floor where it's chiming but the doors will not open. it must be stuck in a loop somehow. All the doors are well and truly jammed shut with dust and debris after years of non use sadly
Ah, I see. I think the controller keeps trying to open the doors but they might be jammed shut and it keeps trying again. Interesting :)

Out of interest was the Brook Car Park built before the shopping centre? Hence the really grotty lifts and stairs in the "red car park as opposed to the more modern ones in the shipping centre?
Also can anyone offer any suggestion as to why there are no stairs at the Sainsburys end leading into the green car park?
Meanmanmartin2007 I've just seen this comment. The Brook car park was built around 1973 and the Pentagon in 1976. I'm not sure why there are no stairs at the Sainsbury's end.
The Brook Car Park was built around 1971 and the adjacent Pentagon Centre was opened in 1975.

Thanks. Yep, they've been modernised as usual. I'm not sure if they ever will be repaired and put back into service. The area is quite grim.
I think think those escalators in wilko are Thyssen. Not sure though.
Looks terrifying but fun at the same time being on top. The closest I could get to being on the top of one would be the hospital. Even then I don’t know how to get on it in the first place 😂😂

Nope! They've actually boarded up the landing doors and repainted the stairwell. It's as if there is no lift there now 🙁

Remember The Pentagon being built - it replaced streets of old and dilapidated Victorian houses, but to be honest, The Pentagon isn't much better IMHO. Interesting though to see the lifts etc.
