Sorry to hear of your memory loss! Never heard of any one actually having a memory card failure. It’s much warned against of course. I love your presentation style. Keep it up. x

That made me laugh Christian as about 5 mins before I read that I had told half a story to my beloved before forgetting the point. He too is sorry about my memory loss 😂😂. Thank you. And I too had never actually had contact with anyone who had a corrupted card. It’s not a myth (unfortunately). Keep safe sir 👍.

If only I had a Time Machine! Louise ,”Ben you are putting footprints in the foreground of my photo” me “don’t worry, you won’t be needing your photos - have mine” 😂
Another fun weekend adventure with B&L. My side of the story coming out soon.

That Time Machine would have been v useful. I am currently rained out in Wales so again… that Time Machine. Looking forward to your cracking shots Ben. I may just have to go back, perhaps on a less grey day… 🌅

Condolences on your memory card issue. I live not far from San Francisco and given the choice between a flat grey sky and a bright blue one, I prefer the grey, even if the clouds aren't doing anything interesting. You can do quite a bit with a low saturation or monochrome treatment to create mood.
That gallery is amazing. I hope you can go back and try again.

Lisa I will. It’s so interesting and I look forward to Ben’s interpretation. When it is blue skies I grab my infra red camera but for a month now we have had a couple of breaks in the blanket cloud for lovely sunsets (which I missed 🙈and drizzle with the grey. I agree with regards to the grey, you have options. I wish you grey and a touch of drama 😉😊

I had a corrupted card yesterday (CF card in my D700 which I hadn’t used for a while). Just as well there were only a few “snaps” from a morning walk on there. Should have formatted it beforehand. Enjoyed the video, you two are a nice double act.

Thanks Phil. Now I did format beforehand… I guess they just gat a bit old and knackered after a time. It’s certainly made me a tad nervous for future shoots. I’m sorry about your images, such a pain. Onwards for more adventures though 🤞

OMG! These things (corrupted card) can happen at any time. But, why just at the worse possible moment? You're so lucky to have such a great photo friend. I quite enjoy tagging along on your adventures as you talk about the photo shoot at hand. May the Year of the Dragon bring you and yours good health, happiness and prosperity. "Gong Xi Fa Cai!"

Corrupt cards...I feel your pain. I was on two weeks holiday at the beach. Nice. Great photos of people surfing, waves crashing on rocks and etc. Beautiful images. Did I bother to pack my portable SSD drive...No. Did I back up my images to my PC, anyway? No. Did my SD card corrupt? Yes😢. My bad. 😢

Oh my… I feel your pain. Mine was only a day, I think I may have had a small sob had it been 2 weeks worth. Someone recommended a new brand to try to avoid this happening. Whose cards do you use, I am SanDisk but Lexar may be a way forward. Thanks for sharing your pain. 🙈

@@louisewelcomephotography many thanks for your concern, but it was one of those "live and learn" moments. I live in Australia and went to Queensland for our family holiday - beautiful. Now, 36°C is very pleasant, but 36°C and 90% humidity is oppressive. On this day, I left my SD card outside, under the veranda and the high humidity must have left some moisture on the contacts. So, hours later, when I place the SD card on a reader to look at some images, I think the moisture shorted out the card. Bugger!
Photography is great, but it does teach too many "live & learn" moments. 😳

I loved the colour shot with the turquoise sea golden domes.shame you didn’t get your shots. I fortunately haven’t had a corrupted card for about 10 years. I have avoided cheaper ones but even expensive ones can fail. I appreciate Ben’s pain. I got a wonderful electric hand warmer. Hi Louise. Early morning start finishing with corrupted card. My idea of a nightmare. So far this has only happened to me with the video side. Meant a multi location video became a single location video.
Ben’s hand warmer took me back to my youth. I had one of those when I competed. Yeah they did have a tendency to go out. Looking at Ben’s attire for the south of England I am not sure how he’d cope on a winter trip to Scotland 😅
Currently having breakfast looking out at fog thinking I should be out there with a camera. My ME is having other ideas. Maybe if it stays for the day I will manage something.
Really liked your pier images especially the monochrome one.

      @louisewelcomephotography  Před 7 měsíci

Thank you kindly sir. Oh crikey, that’s a whole new layer of paranoia now 😬😳🙈 To be fair to Ben, I think I’d need extra layers anywhere north of the Watford gap. I’m trying to get him in to electric hand warmers… one day I will succeed! Just packing multiple everything now for my Wales trip to avoid your catastrophe.
Sorry today is a particularly iffy one health wise. Here’s hoping for some alleviation over the coming ones. 🤞 keep safe Alastair.

@@louisewelcomephotography If your cameras have dual SD slots, fill both and set them to duplicate. I had that with my D750, but the D850 has SD and XQD, and I don't have an XQD card. The Zfc I use is a one-card slot! I am still considering the Zf, as it allows two cards.

Hey, it is possible to use filters with this Fuji, but the lens thread on it is 105mm and the largest filter system I own is 82mm. Anything beyond this is quite specialist (as you know) and I have never owned a lens that has a thread size greater than 82mm.
